Hi all - just skimmed through the last few pages to see how everyone is getting on.
Mardatha - we've lots of the damp stuff 'darn sarf' & set to be in until Tuesday when the yellow thing appears (as if by magic!)
So Mrs L will have a lovely day to start her well deserved trip to Paris. Havn't been for quite a few years but loved the Musee D'Orsay & the view of Paris from the top of La Samaritaine - the Art Nouveau interior is something too.

For those of you with pets I can recommend the Bissel cleaner from Argos - my cat has long hair & it has a very fine 'undercoat' that you can see floating in the air at times. This cleaner is the only one I've found that really does pick up the pet hair & its not too expensive either. I have two mottos for housework - one is 'if you must write in the dust please don't date it' & the other is 'nobody died of dust' Just so you know what to expect in my house.................;)
Hope everyone has a good day today

    Afternoon All!

Well it is one week since Doggle arrived, seems like forever! He is a darling most of the time, then he gets the devil in him and goes mentalist. We can run him ragged on the beach (think whirling dervish) but he still has a lot of beans to expend. He know knows sit, down, weewees, paw and here, working on leave and stay!

We can't leave him as he is not fully house trained or trustworthy not to chew everything in sight, which is making general living a bit tricky. But he is a lovable boy, and we have never walked so much!

Mrs L - Lucky say he can't speak Dockish, but is happy to be a virtual doggy friend!

Fuddle, I know what it is like to react to smoke, I am an ex smokers (29 years) and I can't stand the smell of smoke, and it makes all my tubes swell up and I get all sinus-y. It can make me wheeze for days. And I agree Mar that the lady should be allowed to smoke in her own home, but I would say that if that is the case she might have to accept that others won't work in there with her. My father smoked like a chimney in the house (same room) as my mum when she was bed bound, it was awful as it made her cough, and she could not get out. Just another reason why he is not on my visiting list!

Thinking of you CC, and everyone else who is having a difficult time.

    Afternoon all.....

It's been thick fog and drizzle u til about an hour ago, luckily I'd got a couple of loads of washing on the airers which I've whizzed outside to finish off in the sun now it's shown itself.

DD1 left on her holibobs at lunch time so I've been turfing out her room....2 black sacks of rubbish and an over flowing basket of washing.....honestly she's such a mucky child (adult).

DD2s room was smelling strange but as she'd started using a new body spray we put it down to that, yesterday morning it was worse and she blamed her shoes and said she'd sort it......she came down 5 mins later nearly gagging, one of the moggies had kindly left a bird under her bed....it's a good job she's got viynal flooring is all I can say...yack! :(

Spent 4 hours yesterday designing some new paper cuts and my laptop had a hissy and closed the programme on me without saving my work....I said a few choice words and had a bit of a strop.....cos I'm so grown up.....worked myself up into such a tizzy over it that I ended up with a stonking headache and went to bed at 8pm.

I still have the odd real fag even though I'm mainly on e-cigs now but if I ever have visitors unless they smoke themselves I never smoked in front of people as personally I think its rude..or am I just weird..okay yep I know I'm weird but YKWIM lol

I was walking Rosie the other day and had been out so long my battery had run out so I sparked up a real cig and the lady I was walking with who I have walked with for a couple of years said I didn't know you smoked! as I don't usually even have one if I'm talking with people.

That said you should be able to do as you wish in your own home so its a hard one to call..is the lady able to go outside for one or is she housebound?

MrsLW - what a beautiful kitty he has grown into :)

silva sava - I used photobucket, uploaded my pic then chose the forum link page, copied the link, posted it here and like magic it appeared :)

Its bucketing down with rain here again, and OH went out to car to put shopping bags away bumped into next door neighbours husband (I think he has left as its often months between visits) and he announced one of our ridge tiles is in their back garden smashed, it came down in the high winds.
Am going to get a quote tomorrow to have it replaced, as its three storey we may need scaffolding again in which case it will be an insurance claim. Am rather hoping that as its on the very corner they may be able to do it without though and we can just pay rather than claim.

Our neighbours cat is back staying over again after a few weeks of being kept in they let her back out and she returned, I kept putting her out to go home and she was settled into coming to us while they were at work and then going home when they returned. However yesterday they loaded their car and went on holiday, leaving their son in the house alone. It appears he immediately decamped to his girlfriends house and she has been left out. OH took pity late last night and let her back in and today she has been across and come back.
