Snap. Although we started with the Rough Collie. Still going strong.

Going to take up the carpet and go to laminate later this year.
Of course the men in my family rarely encounter a hovering device of any type.
Ditto, what's been said about the cat.
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
We also have a Collie, Beagle, Westiepoo (doesn't shed so can't be blamed) and the three cats.
To be honest most of the hair round the hoover brush is mine  maybe I need furminating as well :rotfl::rotfl:

Yes, the absence of pets, though painful at times - first time in my entire long life I've been without at least a couple of cats and/or a dog or two - does make the housework a little less compulsory. Not to mention having to round up the cats' live playthings, remove dead moles and clear up the remains of the rabbits that the cats have stuffed through the cat flap for the starving dog to tear asunder - such a joy to come home to after a hard days work.
Nice to hear of all the students getting sorted. My Dgd was accepted at all the Unis she applied to. She really wanted one particular Uni but another has offered her a scholarship, depending on her results of course. It's worth several thousand a year so, as she said, it's a no-brainer.
I can't believe that my little girl is old enough to be leaving home. When I think of her I have a picture in my mind of a tiny three year-old, fair hair, long pink dress, bare feet standing under my cherry tree with her arms spread out being 'rained' on by pink cherry blossom. Memories are magical things, aren't they?

Kidkat - we have that cat frame, it's fab. All three kittens used to curl up together in the smallest box, now only one will fit in there with a few limbs hanging out. All of mine use it regularly for sleeping, scratching and racing up and down like loons!"Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0

Memory Girl, today is the first normal-looking day we've had. I counted 8 straight days of knee-level cloud cover
Today is just normal dull grey sky lol.

Me too - sad when I am happy to "see" a grey sky - but at least its "up in the sky" sky and not "hanging around the pavements sky"
Wanders off to throw something in the thermal baggie for lunch ...... where is that cat???

Morning Toughies, it's drizzly and dull here today but luckily I got out with Docky and round our walk before it got too wet. I've just made the Soda Bread from Jacks book and it's amazing. I cooked it in a 1lb loaf tin and it rose to almost twice its original height and I've just had a slice with my soup for an early lunch, it's delicious and the loaf is the right height and shape to use for toast or sandwiches. It's a real discovery and I rather think I'll be running on that quite a lot from now on. Cheap as chips and very easily made!!! Have a good day everyone, Lyn xxx.0

Hello everyone,
nice to hear about pets and uni/college places.
Just catching up with posts and trying to remember who said what! Hope you're ok now AOT? Anyone heard from kezlou lately?
DH had an email about boys' Xmas gifts from his sister (they haven't had them yet.) I mean its April, the mind boogles. I am not getting involved at all.
Manic day yesterday, felt completely shattered by the end of it. Cooked spag bol for the kiddies (out of freezer) but not enough for us. The time DH came in, I cba to cook again so despatched him to the chippy for chips and had with some ham and coleslaw. Heavenly it was.
Slept in this morning and we are having a leisurely day. Well DH and the kids are! The place has quickly turned into a tip again so I am just doing the obvious stuff like laundry, dishes, sweeping etc and general tidying and recycling type jobs but have also sat with a pot of tea and a book too.
Used 2 squishy bananas to make banana and raisin pancakes for lunch. Oh and I can confirm that absolutely no hoovering has or will take place today! However I will sweep all of downstairs so I guess I'm not too much of a slovern (is that a word??) I also say skew wift - is it a northern phrase?
best get back to it then plan a nice bath before making dinner. Have pork steaks and no inspiration of how to cook, maybe sweet and sour.
take care folks

Is everyone on holiday?
SQ: Crumbs! Still waiting for last years Chritmas presents! Puts my frequent 'Belated Birthday' cards, full of grovelling apologies, in the shade. Give it a few more weeks and everyone will be getting ready for NEXT Christmas.
It's the Rev's birthday today so I took her out to lunch. As it was her birthday I treated her to a steak. I virtuously contented myself with a chicken salad light bite. OK a side order of chips appeared from somewhere and I couldn't waste them, could I?
I really enjoyed my meal but absolutely couldn't stop myself working out how long I could have fed us for the cost of just one meal. I reckon nearly a week. It's stupid, I didn't begrudge spending the money one bit and was aghast at such a miserly attitude. Does anyone else do this? Fortunately no-one else realised that I was working out what I could have saved by cooking the same meal at home.
Someone else is taking us out to lunch tomorrow and I don't think I will have the same trouble.
Now I'm going to drag my miserable, mean carcass off to bed.

Morning.
I've reluctantly put the pooter on this morning as I listed a few things on FB yesterday and I think all the crazy people were on. Mental note, don't list on Saturdays.
Some of them want it free and delivered and even then they don't want to get off the sofa and answer the door, not that I did but YKWIM.
I've sorted a couple of bags of clothes out as someone mentioned booty weather so I thought I'd better get my butt into gear.
Rain here so no lottie but it's a free listing (invite only I think) so I may have to face the Eb@y crazy people instead.
Hope everyone has a good day, tis eerily quiet on here
