Docky dear, Spelling test next Friday, please revise.
Talking of spelling tests my youngest used to have one every Friday in year 2. His spelling was appalling so one Friday when we were all sitting round the table I said, "Oh, what did you get in spelling today."
"I'm not going to tell you," he said, "you'll only laugh." We assured him that not a smirk would sully our features.
Leaning over, he put his mouth to my ear and in a loud, tickly whisper said,"F.O.R.E out of ten."

Nutty and Lyn: You do all that? Every day?
    SQ: Hello sister!

    Fanfare please.
We have packed our first box. Wrapped our posh dinner service in swathes of bubble wrap and packed carefully. If we use it as often in Somerset as we have on the IOW it may never get itself unwrapped.

My fast day today. YAY! No cooking.

  • Not as bad as it sounds, I whiz round with a feather duster and run the hoover over every day when He Who Knows and the Dockling are out for morning walkies, it doesn't take long and keeps the dust down and the house tidy. It's just part of the day to day routine and the whole house takes maybe 20 minutes at most so not as dedicated as it sounds on first reading. It never gets too bad with just the two of us, but doing it every day just keeps it all ticking over, Lyn xxx.

    Hello everyone :)

CC my condolences to you and your family xxx

nuttyp and kidcat I am so happy that the diagnosis were good :)

It has been a strange and stressful week. We have had stinking colds (DS2 is still coughing and spluttering), a picture fell off the wall at work last Friday and I ended up catching it with my head. So I ended up with a mild concussion.
Then my DMIL had a replacement knee fitted on Monday. All seemed ok until they thought she had a reaction to her pain meds on Tuesday. It turns out that it wasn't an allergic reaction, but a mild heart attack. They moved her to another hospital yesterday and they confirmed the diagnosis this morning. We are waiting to hear the results of the latest tests. So I'm jumping every time the phone goes.
Some good news came today and DS1 has been offered a place at Hull Uni with a revised offer of EE and C in maths. So it looks like we will be making a few trips up North.

Hope everyone is ok and happy and will catch up soon xxxx
  • Well done MasterSDG, congratulations of such a super offer. DD1 had a 3 E offer to read history when she was applying to Unis, as she said, you'd be daft not to take it up, good luck for the future!!! Lyn xxx.

SDG - what a week, hope all gets sorted and settled quickly, and well done MrSDG :)

Just back from Costco, and for the first time ever I was overcharged, had to go back and have it refunded.
Kids enjoyed a huge array of taste tests, which included dried fruit pieces in small bags, which both DS10 and DS15 loved so I have grabbed a box quickly as healthy snacks :)
  • She is gorgeous Mar, is the RV in love?
