  • Good morning all. When I say 'good' I don't mean the weather which is grey, damp and cold AGAIN.

mcculloch29 would you please give my best wishes to pops. I miss chatting to him.

Well my plans have had to be revised as damp weather aggravating arthritis something terrible. Legs and feet very bad - can't get shoes on this morning. So have had to apologize to the people I was supposed to be working with.

    Have a good day all.

SQ I am glad you received the voucher. I posted it first thing Monday with a 1st class stamp, shame royal mail take so long.
MRS LW, thankyou for the kind words, as ever you know exactly how to put things in just the right context.

Today is a nice rest morning, all good for me. Going to have a long soak in a bubble bath, and then I have to meet youngest DD at lunchtime. She has an interview at 2 today, so everyone keep your fingers crossed for her. Its going to be a major step forward for her if she gets it. Tomorrow is grand national day, and its going to be a busy one. I have elected to start at 9am and finish at 6pm I was suppose to be on till 10pm but I have a feeling I will be extra pooped. As the only female there I bet I get homed in on.
Have a good day all x

ps mccolough im glad pops is ok. Tell him I said 'hi' I hope he still is going out to his music club.

    Morning all

It's grey and overcast here too, bit nippy but the back door is still wide open, I do love a good dollop of fresh air in the mornings.

No early get ups required this morning as DDs have both broken up for Easter, typically my eyes pinged wide open at 5.30am (they're never that wide open when the alarm goes off). Boot fair season starts locally tomorrow so I'm planning an early mooch, I do love a good rummage at a bootfair. I've been saving bits and bobs of change over the winter so have a nice little pot to dip into.

We had a nice little result on our premium bonds yesterday, all my wins go straight to mortgage overpayments before they get "lost" in the normal daily money juggle. It's nice to know the mortgage is being chipped away at.

Hope you all have a great day....any exciting weekend plans?

  • Lovely sunshine here this morning and a light breeze so hopefully the pollution will be swept away from the UK today. He Who Knows is off to visit both DDs and have lunch with Ezra and then bring DD1 home as we're off to Paris on Tuesday next week and she has broken up for Easter and finished all the marking/report writing/planning that she had to do for next term. Am looking forward to my holiday sooooooo much, have got her a few little presents to say thank you, I'm going to wrap them up and leave one every day on her pillow to find when we get back from sightseeing in the evenings. Hope everyone is OK after the horrid air quality, He Who Knows was so exhausted last night, I'm sure the pollution was a big part of that, Have a good day everyone, Lyn xxx.

    Morning all :)

Lyn ooh how exciting Paris eh?? Have you got a shopping list ready lol..

    Pooky congrats on the wins

Fuddle good luck with your visits! I adored my Ma-in-law who sadly isn't with us anymore but still found it difficult at times when they had to stay here in between houses. They say two women should never share a kitchen..I'd add to that don't let your muvver near a new cooker..mine broke my new one in less than a week (fixed now under warranty luckily!)

Got OH home today so he's being set to work doing the compost bins :) he loves me really *whistles*

Have a great day all XX

PS GOOD LUCK VIBES FOR MISS NUTTY XX
  • Hi D&DD not a shopping trip but an exploring and experiencing the 'french' culture thing. We've the 5 day city passes that give us free transport and free priority entrance to museums, galleries etc. and DD1 whose present it was to me at christmas is a dab hand with city tours on foot, so I'll be too tired to shop at the end of every day. Looking forward to it so much and really looking forward to playing with the french street markets and patisseries, going to be a lot of Coffee and Croissant going on if the weather permits!!! Lyn xxx.

My daughter went to paris with her school, they even got to visit a chocolate factory and they 'made' a chocolate animal. By the pictures she took they ate more than they molded with.

Have just put the washer on, and now need to hoover through. I think im obsessed with hovering, is it normal to need to do every room every day. And I need to clean all the bathroom and kitchen daily, my daughter thinks I have ocd as if I don't get it done because im at work I ring home to ask wither her or my OH to do it. I know, sad.......

    Morning all :)

McC please let Pops know I am thinking of him:)

Monnagran it must have been the day for potato and leek soup, I made a batch for our group yesterday :)

Mrs LW - I would love to visit Paris, but maybe not with the kids :) maybe in a year or two OH and I could manage an overnight trip and leave DD19 with the kids :)

Pooky - you must be the premium bonds best advertisement, you definitely beat the statistics :)

Well its the last day at school and as ever our schools seem to think I should spend the day in the car, have to collect DS15 at 11.30, DS10 at 1.30 and DD8 at 3.10. So lots of back and forth today. Am planning a run to costc@ at final pick up time to collect Ds10 prescription goggles :)

Kitten had his op yesterday and I was told he would be quiet and sleepy - errr no he was cuddly and playful, OH toes being his favourite plaything last night, not sure OH was impressed :)

On a pet note, we now have sacks of foods stacked in utility room, and I would ideally like them in stacking storage with flaps. They would need to hold 10kg each - does anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

kidcat underbed storage boxes are good, they are large and flat. They don't all come with flaps but they are airtight. We have poundstretcher around my area and they sell them, failing that wilcos or ikea???
