  • Thanks POOKY air quality is much better here this morning, He Who Knows has walked the lurcha and come back not breathless, he is heading allotmentwards so must be feeling much more like normal. We've a little breeze being so close to the coast which must be what's making the difference, Lyn xxx.

Pooky, properly stewed rhubarb is the food of the gods. Put it in thick yogurt. There are even some lovely jam recipes using it.

I have memories of a bowl of sugar and a stalk of raw rhubarb in the garden when I was child. Don't think I could do that now though....

I have 2 big plants on my lottie - last year I made a gorgeous rhubarb & orange jelly which is a beautiful pale rosy gold and is scrummy on toast or crumpets!

morning all, been abusy bee already. I took DD to collage first thing, then went to aldi - it busy at opening time. I think more and more people are shopping there. I managed to use up the last of the £5 vouchers from last Thursdays mirror.
Then I came home, unpacked all the shopping - played freezer tetris. Why is it, I try and keep it down to a minimum but I never manage it. There was some cheap meat in aldi, so rude not to buy it - hence the freezer problem.
Came out and pegged the washing out, hovered through, prepared tea nd packed my tea for tonights work. Now I get to have 5 mins to myself.
Blimey, sounds more when I write it down. I popped by and saw DD finace at his work place. His biologic mum passed away over the weekend, she left himand his sisters when he was a toddler. He last saw her at a wedding last year and she didn't recognise him. He said today im angry at her is that ok. I said he could feel however he wants. Maybe its the fact he can never get any answers from her now. For what should be a happy time, with them buyng their first home, its taken a very different turn. Im not sure what to say to him. any help???

    take care all x

I think the £1 delivery slots started because Morrisons are starting deliveries, and offered some, and where Morrisons started (in the West Midlands and spreading out gradually) Tescos offered some £1 slots. Then I think it snowballed from there, as Tesco were offering some the others felt they needed to as well. Long may it continue, LOL!

Kidcat, Glad to hear some good news. Hope you & Nutty are on the mend now! Well done ladies x

Its seems never ending with continuous health worries. Over the weekend my dad has found a lump in his “manhood” and OH mum has found a lump in her breast. Both are waiting for hospital tests but the stress is unbelievable. I’m just hoping & praying that neither are anything to worry about.

I have done absolutely nothing today other than trying to keep on top of the paper work. I knew this month would be a nightmare as everything is coming to renewals. Therefore it’s a matter of spending all day on the net & phone trying to get better deals.
Plus, On top of this, I am having to contact our debtors over extra payments ect that we’ve made as these are not coming off the original debt.

Anyways, Off to have a quick cuppa. Speak soon all x
    Future goals:
    Become debt free.
    Beat Depression.
    Be happy & healthy
  • NUTTY if it would help them to know DD2 and our lovely new SIL had the devastating news just as they came home from honeymoon that SILs Dad had a recurrence of his cancer, he'd been in remission for 6 or so years. It took the wind totally out of their sails and at what should have been the happiest time they were devastated and very upset. They have it in its place now, as much as they can, but from the outside it felt like a destruction of innocence, almost a betrayal by fate. SILs Dad has been treated and is OK for now but it's really just a matter of how much time he has now. It is never easy to come to terms with loss, particularly if there are unanswered questions still to be asked but, life is for living and making as good as it can be not for repining and wondering why things that can't be changed happened. The best antidote to his anger will be to make life good and make a good life for the pair of them in whatever way will make them happy. Life isn't a rehearsal, you only get one chance to live it, so DO IT!!! Lyn xxx.

Nutty, couldn't read and run. We had a similar event with DS's fiancee recently. I think all you can do is listen and just be there when needed. They are getting back on their feet pretty much now but at the time I wondered how they would ever recover from the loss and the feelings it stirred.
