WILL do PIC, have still got to get the polystyrene beads and actually make the wonderbag though, might try that on Sunday when DD1 is home to help hold the material and keep the beads in the pouches, Lyn xxx.0

Just caught up.
CC, I'm sorry to hear of your loss. But as you said he is free. It's the best way to look at and it sounds as if he had a good death with his loved ones by him.
Pippi, I love that name, my last female dog was Pippi.
We have survived the first month of the husband's retirement. His pensions haven't started to be paid yet. And we got the good news that his severance payment can take up to 16 weeks to arrive. Good thing I made sure there was enough for three months bills in the chequing account and I still work. So the budget is a bit seat of your pants these days and the pantry is being used and the freezers emptied.
I have serious garden envy. There is still snow on the ground and a farmer I was talking to the other day said that his land is frozen for 12 inches down. I'm lucky if I get my first crop of rhubarb by the middle of July!
I'm on night shift for the better part of the next three weeks. I think I'll look like a vampire by the end of the month.0 -
Hi.
I really miss not keeping a check on what is going on with you all but sometimes life just takes over.
It was supposd to be a empty week this week. Hollow laughter. Out Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday morning. I'm hanging on to Friday for dear life.
Called into B&Q today as we passed and bought a huge roll of bubblewrap to help with the packing. It was not as expensive as buying it in a stationers but pretty eye-watering. It has to be worth it though as I have a few nice pieces of china which I would like to keep in one piece. We finally decided to pack ourselves as I want to know what is in every box when we arrive. I was delighted to find out that the Movers will dismantle furniture that has to be dismantled to get it out of the rooms and they will put it back together at the other end. Likewise beds. This is new to us, when we moved here 5 years ago we had to do all that ourselves.
I find it odd that I'm not planting my vegetables this year as I'm not going to be here to harvest them. I moan about it every year but miss not doing it. However I am going to scatter lots of annuals among the shrubs so that the new people will have a colourful garden when they move in.
HoHum Master Docky LW. You've been quiet for a while. I hoped you were doing an intensive spelling course. Sadly that doesn't seem to be the case. Welcome back though.
Hope all is well with those having hospital appointments this week. Fingers crossed for you.

Afternoon all.
Wow, Cant believe it’s the afternoon already. Seems I have spent all morning on the phone making the appointments needed for this month. Luckily we have all exclusive calls on our landline or the bill would be huge.
This month we’re completely full to bursting with different places to be. Not quite sure how we’re going to manage it. On top of that we also need to finish decluttering and finishing off the garden.
I’ve been reading on another thread about how people are becoming greedy with reduction foods at their supermarkets. I have noticed recently more people are less choosy about the reduced section and now people are quite willing to have arguments and fights over it. I have experienced this in my local store, But now, Its really getting silly hearing some of these horror stories. I also believe that because supermarkets know that people are prepared to go to these lengths over cheap foods, Their not reducing them like they used too.
Has anyone else experienced or noticed this?
Also, On the same thread a full scale disagreement started over mispriced items. One being asda’s washing powder down to £2. Some people are ordering 20 boxes of the stuff. I’m all for a bargain, But what drives me round the bend is the sheer amount of greed.
Anyways….That’s my Wednesday moan out the way. Hope everyone is well xFuture goals:

Afternoon all
Oh it's quiet on here today.
Monna - I much prefer to pack my own stuff, I like to know where everything is.
Kidkat - Hope everything has gone as planned for you today x
Well we were promised 18 degrees and blue skies today but it's overcast and that wind is a bit nippy - maybe it's better inland.
I've been running around like a loon all morning as DH is having a bad day, as soon as I start something new he's had a fall or needs a hand with something - I think I might just give up for the rest of the day and join him on the sofa. I have been trying to draw up some new paper cut designs but my creative inspiration seems to be limited to doodles and stick men today
I did however manage to make a rather tasty lunch - a friend gave me the recipe (it's a SW one - I'm not following SW but she is) - a tin of chickpea daal mixed with a pack of cooked savoury rice (I used aldl at 24p a pack), mix it all together with a couple of eggs and then bake off. It's "free" on the SW plan (not a clue what it means but she said it was a good thing). It was very yummy - had a big heap of salad with it and it was a light but filling lunch - DD1 had 3rd helpings!
Princess - I've not encountered any YS rage yet, I rarely find anything worth having but do hate it when people seem to barricade themselves into the "shelves" with their trolley and don't let others see what's there. Luckily I'm happy to say "excuse me" loudly whilst moving their trolley out the way
I read part of the report yesterday that says we should be eating at least 7 fruit and veg a day, the report said something along the lines of "we found that those who eat unprocessed foods are healthier" - really? How much were they paid to come to that conclusion? Crazy. I'd love to see some realistic plans to fit that much in each and every day. Yesterday I had 7 different veg and one bit of fruit but did I really have enough of each and could I afford it daily? Doubtful."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. I'm another one who does the shifting trolley manouvre! It really annoys me when a particular couple will stand at the shelf, trolley behind them, all the time asking the other if they fancy this or that, and then shove it all in their trolley anyway... I once stood next to a chap one day in our locaol big Tesco who turned to me and said, "shall we?", winked, and we both started answering the questions, which resulted in much confusion, embarassment and a very swift departure for said couple, then me & chap both had a quick furtle round, picked up what we wanted and moved out of the way to allow others in to have their pick.
Not much going on chez Floss at the moment...workwise I had an interview for a 4-week temp job yesterday which starts on Monday, should have had an interview today for a 6m contract but apparently things have changed so it may be on hold. Have a couple of other things bubbling too, so that's all OK.
Need to go & inspect the lottie tomorrow - DH is on leave this week so he's offered to do the diggingHave got seed spuds to plant, along with various shrubs for my new flower bed. I've also got to plant out garlic, shallots & onions which are all sprouting in the greenhouse, and sow my french beans & pea seeds, and work out what is going in which bed.
Hope Shegar is resting, and Kidcat got on well today. CC big hug.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Our markdowns go round in circles. When our local goes over their markdown budget they then only go to 50% off at best and it ends up going in the bin so they have a mad panic and start reducing again.
When staff have been there a while they get used to who will pay for what so it's always nice to get some different staff in
They have also clamped down on wombling cc points apparently.

I know that they have cut down on the wombling too. Because I used to collect the till spits from the self service machines when walking past, But now, If someone walks away from the SS without the spits, A cashier comes and chucks them away.Future goals:

Good evening. A cold has got it's grips in me but still functioning. DH made stir fry and noodles this evening for us all though as I am shutting down in order to shake it for work tomorrow.
I have worked 3 hours in a chain smokers home today. I found it incredibly difficult especially with being a little poorly. Anyone know if I should be protected from it? I guess not, what with being in someone's home.
I am getting my shopping delivered tomorrow from Asda - £1 delivery cost. Anyone know why it is so low?0 -
KIDCAT hope everything went well for you today, thinking of you all.
He Who Knows is poorly with his asthma which he hasn't had for the last 5 years, he went fishing yesterday and felt really tight and breathless and when he came home I made him phone the doctors surgery. He's got a couple of inhalers and the surgery were overrun with people with breathing difficulties due to this wretched pollution and sahara dust in the air. My friend and I noticed the red dust all over the cars in the sales area of the garage on Monday and thought it was odd but walking round for too long outside makes you cough and sneeze down here today, I don't often wish for rain but that's what we need to knock all the dust and pollution out of the air so we can be comfortable again. It's turned cooler again this evening so we've lit the fire, thank goodness for all the donated wood we've had this winter, it makes it easier to stay warm.0
