Hi, and lots of loving thoughts for those who are having lumps inspected or who are otherwise unwell.
Will post later when there is more time.

Hello mummymaria. Like mardatha we have had day 3 of cold, grey, damp, weather, and I for one, am getting a little bit fed up of BBC weather forecasters saying, smugly, 'it will be warm and bright apart from the north east of England and Scotland!
It does not do my arthritis any good either.
I recognise the area you live in as I grew up in Ferryhill and later spent a lot of time on the bus travelling between Newcastle and there to visit parents.
I did some hoovering but housework was interrupted as I fell over and struggled to get back up. When I was finally upright I decided a cuppa was needed - and a sit down...oops
Wonder why it is that I type hoovering but it comes up as hovering?Use it up, Wear it out, Make it do, Do without.0 -

AOT - hope you're ok after your fall. DH has gone over twice today, so we've had lots of tea breaks too.
After Cheaps mentioned dolly mixture the other day I had to go but some! You temptress you! I shall not start them this evening as I'm going to wait for them to really deserve to be eaten:)
Picked up some asparagus in Aldl today, was lovely and tasty but my goodness the after effects are lingering well (what is it with asparagus and stinky pee?) (sorry tmi)
Finished a big paper cut this afternoon for one of our lovely members, very pleased with it (pics in the usual place) got 5 orders to finish this week for other cuts too so it's going well."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
Oh I know Pooky - My small people love asparagus almost as much as I do (needless to say with their sophisticated eating habits -lol) and I regularly have to warn school and nursery that they will be stinky!!
Feeling quite enthused today - been to a regional parent forum event and found it quite inspirational. Going to be a busy week though as I'm of to our forum committee meeting on Wednesday as well.
AOT - hope you are ok now.
Love and hugs to anyone else who needs some - Hx0 -
AOT, hope you are ok now. Its bu**er when you fall isnt it, OH has a few here and there and it always twists something inside so later you get an 'ouch' moment.
Pooky, the paper cut is amazing, if I tried it Im afraid it would be a family stick instead of a family tree :rotfl: I just can't get along with scalpels and such. I think my cards are always off a little probably cos my left eye is dodgy. Tried to write Skew wift -as in not straight, so googled it and got !!!!!!.....OMG.... any way apparently is a dialect thing which I have used all my life-not the !!!!!! the skew wift saying.Clearing the junk to travel light

The sun broke through the NE mist and gloom at 4.15, woo-hoo I thought, then hah! back it went and in the gloom came.
DS did observe that the high pressure had deposited Saharan dust all over his car, though.
SQ, I am with 'no funeral flowers'.
For the life of me I can't recall who sent flowers to Mum and Dad's funerals, but I still have my sympathy cards. The flowers were lovely, but there were more than enough.
So many, in fact, that at Mum's funeral my wreath was missed, and not put on the coffin at the church.
They rectified it for the crem. service though.
Despite the bone - aching weather, it has been a Good Day, my free trimmer edger and electric foot file both arrived in the post and the chilli plants DD bought me for Mother's Day look healthy.
I resurrected a very old recipe for tea and it was even nicer than I remembered. I wouldn't want to make it more than a few times a year, but it is back on the menu. The bacon, onion and potato hotpot with cheese sauce is a bit nicer, imo.
As posted on 'Tonight's Dinner' thread:
Basically, precook some pasta - enough to 3/4 fill your oven - proof cassorole dish.
Have some pre-cooked gammon, bacon or ham trim to hand, in smallish chunks.
Put cooked pasta in casserole dish and stir chosen meat through.
Beat together 3 eggs (4 if it's a BIG casserole dish), roughly 1/2 pint milk and 150g grated mature cheese.
Season with pepper, bacon/ham will probably have enough salt.
Pour over and stir through the pasta and bacon, bake at 180 degrees for 30-40 minutes until golden brown and egg has set.
Serve with salad, or tomatoes, or peas, it goes with a number of things.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
Morning toughies
AOT hope you are ok today after your fall.
It's looking like a lovely day here again after awful rain last night.
Pooky your paper cut is absolutely gorgeous
mcculloch I will give the pasta dish a try am hopeful it may be a winner with ds10 and his limited taste.
Off to church with ds10 which I am not looking forward to. It's the one we used to live next to so will cause no end of questions and issues afterwards.0
