Morning all.
Spent the whole of yesterday outside preparing the garden ready for growing the fruit & veg. OH built the raised garden bed and had enough free to wood left over to make a box for some plants too. We got approx £100 of wood completely free. I was so surprised just how far it went too.
So, We’re now pricing up all the plants, Compost (As ours isn‘t ready yet) and we’re looking about £40. Which isn’t too bad either.
Whilst doing the work outside, I found another project that needs doing. Our plastic table & chairs need a revamp. Its outside in all weathers and its letting the garden down. I was told on another group about duck tape. So I will be pricing that up today too.
Today is rather dull so I will be indoors today having a clear up and a relax. I have woken up with a stiff neck and nothing seems to be easing it.
Have a good day all.Future goals:
Become debt free.
Beat Depression.
Be happy & healthy0 -

Thinking about you kidcat!
Mrs. Chip, he looks lovely and very cuddly...and maybe as if he is plotting just a bit of mischief.;)
Princess, what great progress! I've put a few plants out, but nothing major yet. Next task is to clear out the toilet from next door's cat and put the nets back up so she'll go elsewhere.
Right, off to my desk.
Hugs to any and all who need them.x0 -
My weekend was very long and draining but a new week, a weekend off next week and a day off today!
I only had an hour with the girls yesterday. They sang Happy Mothers Day with a tune on the recorder, DH had a roast dinner ready and the girls gave me their gift, wrapped in paper drawn on by them. The gift was a foraging book. It doesnt just focus on foraging for food purposes but for all other uses too. It also has a section on seaweed which I wanted to find out more about.
DH managed the household/children/DIY/Monday morning prep really very well. He is a good man, so much so I can just relax today which makes me feel guilty as he works 40+ weeks constantly and needs a break too!
Hes left his plans out for the shed. He is thinking it can be saved but some areas does need replacing. He is going to half the size of the area (only for fishing gear and the lawn mower) while making a canopy for the girls to play in etc. It a cost cutting exercise really because it means less materials to rebuild walls.
Its chicken curry night and oh so easy as I am about to get the SC on. I could do it tonight but I think I will opt for the ready to serve option for when I am tripping over my eyelids later.
A dull day today. I must research whirligigs - does anyone use the basic Arg0s one and have an opinion on it? It looks like we may have more sun in the garden than I thought so bodes a little better for growing our own produce.0 -
Burtha I'm sorry to appear selfish but am just glad that I have not been the only one with nothing to look at but thick fog & drizzle. We live on top of a cliff overlooking the river - its normally a picture postcard view - this weekend I've seen nothing but the fence.
Thankfully my few days away last were last weekend when we had bright sunshine. Still chilly but much better. We're still looking at grey mist today. Hope it improves tomorrow as I'm being taken out for afternoon tea and we hope to sit outside - some hope though.
Good luck kidkat & shegar. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Glad things went well for you nutty.
Mrs Chip he looks gorgeous.
Ah well, I'd better get back to the hoovering I suppose.Use it up, Wear it out, Make it do, Do without.0 -
Fuddle I don't have the basic Argos whirligig but I do have the Tesco value one and I hate it. It's not quite tall enough so you have to crouch a bit to hang stuff on the inner lines and the slots that it clicks into when you raise it are spaced so that you can either have it too slack or only my DH can manhandle it to slot in the next slot up. Hope that makes senseIt doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0

Thanks maryb, it makes complete sense. That was the kind of info I was after really. I like to go basic but if it is going to frustrate the life out of me Id rather wait and invest.0

I also had a cheap one and it annoyed the hell out of me and was so difficult to manipulate I ended up not using it. I hear the Brabantia ones are excellent and I keep meaning to set up an alert for local sales on ebay.

Fuddle I have one that was on offer in mr a lady year having had a basic one for two years. The basic one did me fine for the two years but I am a mere five foot whereas OH struggled with it. So when I saw this one on offer I grabbed it and it's doubt well so far. It's stood out in the wind and rain and is still standing.
Thank you all for your good wishes. It means alot. Just a case of waiting until Wednesday now. It's a busy week so time will fly I am sure. Ds15 unit asked this morning if I was around Wed just in case the IT teacher turned up and wanted things bringing along. I said no sorry I won't be available. Anything you need you will need to ask for in advance and in case of emergency I will be leaving a number for the day of a friend who will come out to pick him up.
They were not pleased and are used to me dropping everything but in this case I can't and they will just have to put up with it for one day.0
