Kidcat, hope all goes well Wednesday, will be thinking of you and all our other friends waiting for results or about to go for tests. I think, personally you understand, that its time more people learned that you cannot drop things all the time Kidcat. Staff need to have better coping mechanisms and alternate plans for problems. I know you do so much for everyone but its time to have a little bit of you time occasionally especially in this case when you need to be relaxed. xxx

OH sleepy again and Im at the end of the flu so feeling a bit weedy so am pottering and getting lots done slowly. But goodness me theres so much to do  Its our 35th wedding anniversary next week so am hoping we get to do something nice especially as I should be getting my long service medal :rotfl:

    Hi everyone,

not sure if I said before but thanks for the posts about sugar. I haven't done anything yet about cutting back as I am not in the right head space but its on the list....
Busy day today, been with my friend all day helping her sorts bits and pieces out relating to her mum's funeral and also went shopping and got all birthday related items for her son's special day, even have party bags filled. All she needs to do is write the card and wrap gifts. Glad to do something to help.

Tomorrow is another busy one as doing a little taxi-ing for the same friend in am and helping out at school event in pm - teacher only asked me at school pick up today. Another day the housework will have to wait.

best get off me bum and make dinner, simple chicken, spuds and steamed veg meal after all the treats yesterday.
hugs to all who need them
    sq :)

I have only been to funerals of family members before but I am going to my friend's mum's funeral next week (more to support my friend than anything.) I have met friend's mum briefly a few times but didn't really know her at all. I wasn't planning on ordering a wreath or anything, its money I don't really have spare to spend but not sure if that will look wrong. Is it acceptable to just attend the service? I would prefer to make a charity donation personally if that was an option but it seems to be flowers only.

    TIA

I don't do flowers for funerals, a waste of money in my mind. No one will mind you not doing them, I doubt anyone would notice to be honest. You are doing your "bit" by supporting your friend which means more to her than a bunch of flowers.

SQ we didn't do any flowers for my dads funeral. I did a wreath with vegatables, a primula in a pot and a hand trowel on it. Basically my dad was a farmer through and through.

If you are worried SQ just buy a little plant and give to your friend. Maybe a potted rose, they are 1.99 most of the time in morrisons etc.....
Im sure your friend appreciates the quality time you spent today helping her, and supporting her. I can assure you it meant more to me in my time of need than any gift - the thought that a friend was there for me.

Maria, these days there is quite often a retiring collection for a favourite charity so a lot of people just contribute to that
It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!
