Yes long may £1 delivery slots continue... mine even arrived early!

I have made boob with over ordering on carrots though. Carrot muffins and carrot cookies to be made tomorrow.

We are having chicken with hassle back potatoes, corn on the cob (frozen, cheaper and taste the same with some melted butter slathered) and a rather odd addition of garlic mushrooms as I have them to use up.

The sky is hideously strange today. It's concerning actually and at times I swear I can smell pollution. The cars are wick with dust and with me having a bad chest anyway, I am feeling a grainy throat. I've never experienced any thing like this... and we are not even in the very high area today!

Thanks for help with the smoking lady. I think I need to pass my concerns on, I just don't want to ruin our rapport really - and it is her home. Sticky.

Nightmare with schools continues - the place went to someone nearer although I cannot fathom why as we have a sibling there already. Still, have to accept these things. Both my girls are happy and flourishing so I need to thank my lucky stars that both schools are high achieving schools and appreciate what I do have.

Erm, news is that mam is coming down for 2 WEEKS!!!!! I am not happy and apprehensive but... she is making an effort and wants to be with us so I will try my very hardest to be strong and happy. The thing is MiL is coming down weekend after this one too so I am going to be demented (although she is staying in hotel)

So tired if I am honest as haven't been sleeping but weekend off to look forward to and I pick youngest up at 1.30 tomorrow (RC school finishes early) then go to an Easter service with little one in tow to see big one in church. I also have to find a time to go support my customer who is collecting for charity.

Oh and more loot for DH's shed rescue project - he's got some pallets from work :D

Fuddle I think the whole smoking thing is a huge silly fuss - it is the woman's home and its not as if you're going to be imprisoned and kippered for 23 hours a day. I think modern life is totally bloody mad most of the time and they overreact like hell lol

Can I plant the seeds now MG? of the nameless green stuff? I use it in soup. Or is there no point as its too cold?

I've planted my spinach, chard and herbs ... but they are in the coldframe as its till darn chilly at night.

As for the "green stuff" I just sprinkle the seeds on when its a bit warmer and like "Red Weed" from War of the Worlds it takes over the garden from there.

I'm still in the Kingdom - so its really a bit early for us to be planting out yet isn't it?

Evening, Toughies. Glad the simple little pasta /bacon recipe was useful, amazing how a few ingredients can combine to be so tasty. The onion, bacon and potato hotpot is even tastier... imo.

I woke up an hour ago having flaked out for two hours. Hope I sleep ok tonight.
This morning I was up fairly early for me, showered, hair washed and out of the door before 9, missed most of the frantic school run as I rode towards town on the trike.
I had an unexpectedly lazy morning keeping our former regular (and dear RL friend) company as he waited for a HA visit.
He is such intelligent and good company that the time flew, thankfully.

What a change from the last visits - a solo (female) staff member with brilliant people skills who was kind, prepared to listen, empathic and practical. I was worried about her visiting others solo, but apparently there are very firm protocols to protect her.

Used my second £5 voucher from A!di. I treated myself to some trainer socks for summer that will not interfere with my circulation, and a reduced from £5 to £3 set of jumbo cup, mini grater (so cute!) and mini whisk. The mini grater will indeed come in handy for nutmeg and chocolate.

Watching the 'Hoarder' programme with half an eye, I always find I have a good chucking out / donating session each time I watch one of these!

    Evening all.

Today was my to be my catch up day. Sigh.........

Morning taken up with numerous phone calls, car not starting and me having to hitch a lift to take my gallon of leek and potato soup to the church - it would have to be the one in the next village, wouldn't it, and I really didn't fancy the bus with the aforementioned vat of soup on my lap.
The RAC were brilliant and swiftly did their magic on the car. Quick bite of lunch, (Leek and potato soup if you're interested) and unexpected visitors passed the afternoon happily. No catching up then.

    Will try again tomorrow.

Loved the jelly baby tree story. I'm surprised Mar isn't travelling down to take a cutting.

Off to bed with a book.

PS. Fuddle: TWO WEEKS??????? That's what comes of being a good person and trying to keep everyone happy. Does she realise that she will have to fit into your routine and that just because she is on holiday doesn't mean that you are too? PHEW. Good luck with that!

Some posts were badly misunderstood by others and it all got too much for our friend. It wasn't their fault that they completely misinterpreted what he said and it certainly wasn't his, but he felt it best that he didn't give any further opportunities for aggro.
