We don't have an ikeeeeea or costc0 anywhere near us...probably a good thing but I feel I'm missing out ;)

SDG - ouch to the conclusion but yay to the Uni offer! DD1 only applied to one, at the interview they said it was a 1-3 chance of getting a place but she did :), she just got some bursary info through yesterday so we've got to go through all that soon, she's staying at home so her costs are considerably less but she does need to fund her car to get to the Uni and back so any bursary amounts are welcomed.

Hands up....I Hoover daily too ( well downstairs....upstairs is normally every other day) I feel it's needed with the amount of carp that 5 cats, 1 parrot and us humans manage to tread in and out.

Mardatha thats a gorgeous throne for HRH Bagpuss :)

Pooky - we are very lucky in that Ike@ is ten minutes away and we live in between two costco, both about 20 minutes away. If you ever want anything picking up and posting I am happy to wander along for you :)
Kids love Costco for the taste testing opportunities :)

I dont hoover, my back complains too much so I delegate to OH and the older two. It gets hoovered every two days on average, but if it needs it more then I issue commands to get it done more :)
Most of my time is taken in tidying, washing and drying type of activities which often feel so wasted . I do wish the house was more ordered to allow less tidying and more cleaning :)

AOT, hope you are ok now. Its bu**er when you fall isnt it, OH has a few here and there and it always twists something inside so later you get an 'ouch' moment.

Pooky, the paper cut is amazing, if I tried it Im afraid it would be a family stick instead of a family tree :rotfl: I just can't get along with scalpels and such. I think my cards are always off a little probably cos my left eye is dodgy. Tried to write Skew wift -as in not straight, so googled it and got !!!!!!.....OMG.... any way apparently is a dialect thing which I have used all my life-not the !!!!!! the skew wift saying. :D

I say skew wiffy as well Ginny :)

I hate the Henry Hoover too - unfortunately as I spend today making these for certain frugaller lady on here

    DSCF9383-300x225.jpg

I had to spend a half hour with the red monster sooking up white polystyrene beads from all the nooks and crannies.

Prefer the sewing to the hoovering I confess.

PS Mardatha - any sign of the sun with you yet? Still got cloud level at knee-cap height here in the Kingdom.

We had Norwegian Elkhounds for 20 years and now have a Rough Collie. I killed a Hoover specifically designed for dog owners.

Going to take up the carpet and go to laminate later this year.

Of course the men in my family rarely encounter a hovering device of any type.

Ditto, what's been said about the cat.

Sorry kidcat - they are the "Wonderbags" - or thermal cooking bags that Elantan was wittering about.

She got me to rustle up a pattern and then make some for her ..... although I have discovered that they are perfectly sized for cat to have a kip inside!!! Guess how I found that out?

MG - Nice way to confuse DS2 :)

DD2 breaks up today and isn't back until 22nd April - then it's just a few weeks until she's on study leave. Around 23 school days left for her! How did my baby grow up so quickly?

My DS2 has broken up today as well until 22 Apr, he officially finishes on Friday 23 May, then just has to go back for a couple of exams.
instead of doing their 4 options over 2 years they have done 2 in yr10 and 2 in yr11.

You are right the time does go fast.
