Nargleblast she moved in at Christmas but a few weeks ago The owners appeared to want her back so we encouraged her to go home. But she really prefers it here, they are at work all day and she is alone. She is a very sociable cat who loves company and other cats, she spends her day here either cuddled up smiling at me or playing with our cats.

Well, if your cats are happy playing with her then it sounds like she has her paws planted firmly under your table! Cats certainly know a good home when they see one.

Fuddle: Many years ago as a brand new nurse, I worked on a specialized unit for alcoholic, smoking elders who needed institutional care. Think of a care home. We were asked if we wanted to work on that unit. Many nurses refused because they didn't smoke. I accepted it because I needed to pay the student loans for nursing school.

I enjoyed the job, didn't mind the smoke and worked there maybe two shifts a week. It's the only unit in that facility that I miss!

So, I tend to think you would be able to turn down those shifts without getting too much flack from your employer.

Yesterday was one of those days where after dealing with the worst two patients we've had personality wise since Christmas, we had a lovely man arrive just before shift change. The kind of person who makes your day all worthwhile. Even though he was vomiting and in pain post op he didn't blame us for the delays in sorting out his pain meds (the surgeon forgot to order any).

Today is warm and sunny. The ice has nearly melted. The Collie has been walked.

Does anyone else have to buy Easter eggs for their adult children? Mine look forward to those giant Kinder egg ones. So they were on sale today, So they are bought and hidden. Honestly, my youngest is 20 and they had the nerve to point them out in the ads the other day.

Homemade chicken Korma for supper. Off to do load three of the laundry.

    Morning me lovies

Grey rainy day here but we are cosy indoors with the curtains drawn still. However I am planning to go out later into town.

Thanks for sharing the lovely pets' pics - adorable. Can't remember when you are off to Paris Mrs LW but hope you have a fab time. I loved Paris (went years ago with a friend) and want to go again with my DH.

Love your motto silvasava. Pooky - hope your headache has gone now, what a complete pain in the butt!

Men and laundry!! O dear I feel a mini rant coming on. I think I am caught up with the washing and suddenly DH dumps a ton of dirty clothes magic-ed up from goodness knows where into the laundry bin. If I am doing a particular colour wash and ask for additions, he rarely has any and if I wash his clothes left on the floor - he is "still wearing them"! Infuriating! I only wash clothes now that appear in the laundry bin, children included. Oh and the kids put any clothes, even a sweatshirt they have worn for an hour straight into the laundry bin but I am working on them and having some success.

Talking of clothes, I had a rare and sudden urge to clear my wardrobes out as the hangers on the OUTSIDE kept getting tangled up, clothes falling off etc. All this due to having 4 sizes of clothes!! I can now shut my wardrobe doors properly and have nothing hanging on the outside. This is a huge step for me... unfortunately I also have bags of clothes and piles of unbagged clothes everywhere as I ran out of steam and time yesterday. I am only keeping clothes in a size below which is my default size and all the rest are going either to a cash for clothes or charity shop this week.

I detest cigarette smoke but I am all for people to choose their own lifestyle so I am also of the view that smoking staff should be sent to the lady who smokes then everyone is happy. Have to say that my DH was a smoker when I met him and that was the main cause of any argument. I wouldn't have let the ciggies end our relationship... too head over heels in love... but I was so glad when he gave up before we started our family. DS7 has a school friend with parents who smoke and I don't like him being exposed to the air but they don't smoke when DS is there and this friend is currently the only friends he goes to without me which is a bigger deal than any secondhand smoke.

enough of me rambles, better look lively
    sq :)

    I think he's gorgeous too D&DD!!

Been keeping up but mad busy again (just for a change -lol!) Today has been a mad round of organising, photocopying, printing directions and ironing as we are off down to (hopefully) sunny southshire tomorrow. Doing some family visiting and also taking the kids to LEGOLAND as we got them Merlin passes with the days out money we were granted from a charity and we go free as carers (hence the photocopying of diagnosis letters, blue badges etc for the fast track). Also looking forward to meeting up with some friends of DH's from when he was young for dinner one night. We're staying in a premier inn and had a minor panic this morning when we thought we'd made a bit of a boo-boo. The "looking forward to seeing you" email came through and it said hotel was over 3 floors and no lift which I hadn't noticed when I booked it - oops. Quick call to hotel sorted it though and we have a ground floor room so panic over.

Right must go back to my packing - catch you all later - X

Stilty, thank goodness you spotted the 3 floors. My Mum did that many years ago with my Dad, she had him and a huge suitcase to deal with - thank goodness for wheelie suitcases now! When she got to the hotel, yes the room was on the first floor but the entrance to the hotel was up a huge set of steps  Dad could walk but bloomin heck it took him ages and then he had to rest all day. You also had to hover behind him so he didnt fall.

Well its the day I get a medal - 35 years of wedded.....erm....bliss :D I think a takeaway is in order. We should have been on holiday this week but luckily I didnt book it as he is far from well enough. Am going to play it by ear and ring up for a cottage as soon as he feels upto it.

D&DD what a beautiful pup - I would spend all day just cuddling him. I am petless apart from Spare cat who calls in when he feels like it but in no way does he live here or really eat here and a very elderly rescue rabbit who wont be around much longer but at least he has had a better life with us. Its strangely liberating not having pets, I got my first dog for my first birthday and its been a continual stream of mainly rescues ever since. However I do miss having something around to talk to.
