Glad you're feeling a bit better Princess. Long may it continue.
Ivyleaf, I think there's definitely a genetic element to my need to have lots of stuff - my dad has a garage full of stuff which used to include two broken washing machines just in case he needed the parts.
Mar I've put the heating on.
Feeling sad as I've had to drop Lottie dog at the vets for a quick bit of minor surgery. I'm sure she'll be fine but it's always a bit of a worry for an older dog going under general. And she'll hate being there without me, especially as there was another dog there howling to go home the entire time I was there.0 -

As you say, small world, we love it here.Carolbee0 -
What a glorious morning! (well it is here in my bit of Kent). Blue skies, fluffy white clouds and a very gentle breeze. I'm off out to give the grass the first cut of the year in a bit, it was dry enough yesterday but the wind was to cold to stay out there long enough.
My moggies are in full on hunting mode and we're getting "gifts" by the hour....I just wish they were all dead as yesterday's mouse hunt was something akin to the board game "mouse trap", only one live one this morning and I caught it more by accident than designof course all 5 cats sat and watched me as though to say "look at her, she's doing it all wrong".
Possession - hope you've warmed up, are you coming down with something? I couldn't get warm and stay warm last week and ended up with a snuffy nose and sore throat for a few days.
Popped to the CS on the way back from the tip this morning and picked up a couple of new with tags summer shirts for DH, a set of fabric placemats that match my table cloth perfectly, a couple of books and a CD. A nice little haul and only a few £ spent."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
Dull low white cloud here but I was out in the garden without a woolly duffle coat on!! *faints* Forecast looking good for next week too. But the cars were pure white this morning.0

No am still cold Pooky. I don't feel ill, just freezing. I don't know if there's anything to it but since I had the knee replacements I feel the cold much more. I don't know if it's to do with there being metal in my body, but I used to be quite a warm morsel (having a few extra layers of padding) so there's a noticeable difference.
Oh and it's not sunny here!0 -
Princess so pleased you are felling better today.
Possession - hope doggy is ok
Pooky - I think they more likely complimenting each other at what a good job they have done training you to catch the mice
Nutty - thanks for voucher reminder
Heather - welcome.
Well its the morning after the day before here and its chaos, decorators finished last night, but I had governors meeting at 4pm(I was chair so couldnt cancel), raced home to pay decorators, flipped 16 pancakes for the kids then off out to parents evening for 6.30, then home to collect littlies as DD19 needed a break from them, off to work to collect OH and back here for 8.15, then I had to start making DD7 room up, put mattress and bedding etc back. Finished that and down to living room to put sofas back down and set up TV etc. Sat down at 9,15 for a quick drink before going to cook dinner for OH and I, then woke up at 3am!!
Have been this morning to buy party food etc from Makro, so am moving that forward and have the carpet man measuring this afternoon. But am so tired again, really looking forward to sitting down this evening, have put a bottle of pink wine in fridge to chill as I think I deserve a small glass as treat tonight0 -
Welcome Heather :T
Kidcat, Where do you get the energy? You seem non stop!
Nutty, I think its put my OH off having his done in April. But, Lessons learnt all round here. NOTE TO SELF....TAKE BETTER CARE OF OUR TEETH!
Nipped into the charity shop after the baby bits was collected and not sure if its just our local ones, but the prices have nearly doubled.
See a lovely top in there but the price tag of £10 put me right off. I understand that they have overheads & need to make money too but, I could get something similar for half the price in other stores.Future goals:
Become debt free.
Beat Depression.
Be happy & healthy0 -
Ivyleaf, I'm the other side of the A20 from you but it wouldn't surprise me if you see parakeets more and more often. I think they have spread out from Scadbury Park where they were breeding in the woods. All I can say is, if winter culls them, they must breed very fast!It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0

Princess - glad you are starting to feel a bit better.
Nutty - belated happy birthdays - hope you had a good day.
Anyone else who needs a hug, please have one I am in a jolly huggy sort of a mood today. Guess who used her talker to read her reading book to her teacher this morning? Yes little Miss Stilty!!!! We finally worked out a way that allows her to demonstrate to schools satisfaction that she is actually reading the words, not just copying or matching or anything else - so they now have evidence of what we have said all along which is that DD can read! I'm over the moon (can't you just tell!) - and Little Miss Stilty was going about looking pretty pleased with herself too. When we told her speech and language therapist at the AAC drop in day today she almost cried! Now school have that evidence, and we have found a technique which allows DD to demonstrate her ability to read we can really start to fly.
Right, must go and pick her up from school - catch you all later - Hx0
