Stiltwalker, well done to little miss stiltwalker on the reading. It was a long time ago when I was all excited about my girls learning to read. Youngest DD is doing 2 weeks of work placement in the pre school she went to some 16 years ago. She said some things are the same, and we 'think' this may be something she wants to do. a teaching assistant for either pre schoolers or infants. The fact she is on their wave length helps, definatley not a grown up 18 year old.

They are taking part in world book day tomorrow, so she will be tinkerbell, her sister had the outfit so that was sorted quickly. I was going to make her into a caterpillar, you know a green body and a bit of facepaint - then she can have a pretend cardboard sandwich and be the very hungry caterpillar!!! ta da. Needless to say she wasn't impressed.

Tea to prepare, sausage egg and chips. take care all x

    Hi everyone.

Welcome Heather. Insert waving smilie. Are you sure you know what you are doing. I take it that you've lurked a bit and know what you're in for. If not you're in for a surprise.

Happy Birthday for yesterday Nutty. Hope you really enjoyed it.

Ginny: No, unfortunately I don't get a Sabbatical but I do get to enjoy the holidays the Rev has planned, particularly the one I am NOT going on. 4 days of freedom to have a good clear out and blame anything she can't find on the removers! Result!

Pooky: We never had mice until a certain cat came to live with us. She used to bring them in to play with but got bored quite quickly and then it was left to me to evict them.

Mar: I'm with you on the minimilist front. My bedroom is sparse in the extreme as it's the only room in the house that is exclusively mine. Unfortunately the Rev, during the course of her turbulent life, has had to start from nothing so many times that she doesn't feel safe unless she is surrounded by masses of THINGS. I try to be tolerant but it's hard. Sometimes she will announce that she is going to have a great de-clutter and tidy up. When she has finished there is a small plastic bag of 'rubbish' and the room doesn't look any different than when she started. Sigh........

Miss Stilty: Oh, well done you clever girl! That's shown those stupid adults a thing or two. You enjoy your reading flower, there's nothing in the world like it.

Successful day yesterday in our search for 2x2 seater sofas. We have been saving up for ages but weren't confident of getting what we wanted at a price we could afford. First shop we went into - 2x2 beautiful leather sofas at a clearance price. We had enough money left over to buy a matching reclining chair and storage footstool. We were even offered coffee while we looked around. We walked round Ikea in a daze - which may account for the perfectly unnecessary roasting trays that mysteriously appeared in our trolley. They are nice though.

    Well done Little Miss Stilty!!
Well Lottie dog is OK but feeling very sorry for herself and the vet slightly worried me by keep mentioning her age and how I must get water into her and she'd call today to see if she was alright. She is, I think.
DD is going in pajamas today because she wants to be a character out of her sleepover book. She's having a sleepover party for her birthday next week - 6 of them for my sins. I may have to leave home.

    Afternoon all

Possession - I had 8 for a sleep over once.....never, ever again. Glad mine are beyond at now, I just end up with smelly teenage boys staying over instead.

Stilty - yay for showing those grown ups what's what!

I don't think I could ever be minimalist, I like my nicknacks too much..and anyway it would show even more muddy paw prints if the surfaces were clear :)

Lovely day again here, I was up at 5am and bright eyed, 6 loads of washing have happened (last one just finishing), I've hoovered all through, cleaned the car, sorted some more garden bits, built a greenhouse, sorted the conservatory, played washing line hokey cokey and cooked lunch....and it's not even 1pm!

Going to quickly start some dough off for pizza tonight and leave it to do its stuff until I need it later and get on with some sewing. I've decided to stop using my blog now and stick everything on my FB business page, I just can't find time to do both. If anyone wants to pop over for a look, please do. Link in the usual place.

    Hi everyone.

Just having a look through the fridge, freezer & cupboards. I’ve got loads of bits to use up. I have decided that I am going to make pasties & slices over the weekend with the leftovers. This is something I’ve never made before, Knowing me I’ve picked a dish which is easy - But I have no clue where to start.

The fillings I planned on using is: chicken & mushroom & mince & red onion. Pastry is the “just roll stuff” (Not very OS I know)

I’m totally eye boggled on how to add any fluid if any to each of the pasties.

Where am I going wrong please peeps? xx

Princess for the chicken and mushroom I would make a white sauce, and for the mince one I'd add thick gravy. Or you could just use gravy for both.

    Afternoon toughies

Stiltwalker - I can hear your beaming smile from here!! :) She is really doing so well, its lovely to hear of such successes.

Possession - hope doggy was ok through the night.

Pooky - I think FB is the new way for business and is very sensible to keep on top of things by just having the page not the blog :)

Monnagran - well done on sofa shopping, I found it relatively easy, but have found paint and wallpaper more difficult :)

Princess I just dump the filling in centre and fold pastry over.

Well its been a very long day here, still havent got the gloss paint cat prints remove from my TV cabinet. OH took DS9 to his swimming lesson last night and arrived home, put car on drive then announced it only had third gear. He decided he didnt fancy calling AA last night as he didnt want to sit around waiting!! Its now sat on drive, cant be driven. If he had at least left it on road outside house I could have nursed it to the mechanic today.
Instead I will have to call AA at some point and wait in for them, this morning I had to order two taxis, DD19 took DD7 in one and I took boys in opposite direction in other, Friend was shopping so she picked me up from school took me shopping with her then dropped me home for 10am, I put shopping away then had to call another taxi as it was DS9 school review meeting at 11. Walked from there to pick up little car from exhaust place, dropped it with MOT place then walked to collect yet another hire car.
Have now been in half an hour and have to go out in ten minutes to collect DS15 and be back as DS9 school for 2pm WBD assembly!
At some point I still have to clear DD7 room and get carpet out, tidy downstairs for cleaner in the morning, and call AA to tow car into garage.
Thats after doing the pick ups, racing to DS9 party place to pay for his party next week and then heading back and out again to Uni to collect DD19.

Am soo grateful I put a stew on yesterday, which means we can eat, have pizza for the littlies so at least we are covered meal wise. OH has called asking why I havent had it towed yet and when I am off to look at new cars?? I wont repeat my reply :)
