Princess: I'd be tempted to mix the chicken and mushrooms with a condensed chicken or musroom soup. Not terribly OS but quick, easy and delicious.
Have just been looking at photographs of Mia playing on the beach last week. Hatted, coated and wellied but digging in the sand and filling a moat with a bucket of water. What a lucky girl she is to have the beach at the end of her road, there are few days when she doesn't get down there, even if it is only for a breath of fresh air. She chatters all the time now and more distinct words are emerging, not bad for 17 months. Mind, her uncle started talking at a year but her Daddy was almost 2 before he uttered a word although he did start with quite complicated sentences.
Why am I telling you this? Just another boasting grandma.
I'll be leaving you all in peace for the next week. We are off tomorrow at the crack of dawn to stay in a country cottage with two old friends. I still have to iron the clothes I want to take, track down a suitcase and pack. And, of course, attend to all the things that need seeing to before I can switch off - people to inform we won't be here, bins to be put inside the gate and someone detailed to move them on to the pavement on the scheduled day, key to be given to neighbour in case of emergency....you know the sort of thing. I sometimes wonder if it's worth it, but oh, yes it is!
See you all in a week or so and I hope all the suffering ones feel better by then.

Afternoon Toughies, I'm just back from Oma duty for a couple of days, what a difference two weeks makes in the life of a small person doesn't it? He is so much more alert now, and making a whole range of noises and trying to focus on faces when he's talked to. He can see movement and is entranced by a couple of mobiles his Mum has put up for him and loves music particularly Foo Fighters and Elbow, both of which sooth him when he's fractious. I got to babysit for the first time on Tuesday evening as Mum and Dad took a couple of hours out together and he was such a good boy the whole time and let Oma give him bottle with no fuss, well done Zebra!!! AUNTY GINNY your hug was delivered as requested and I have to report back that he enjoyed it very much and blows you a milky bubble kiss!!! I'll read back and catch up on all the posts tomorrow, hope all is well in all your individual worlds and that you have peace in your hearts and love in your lives, Lyn xxx.0

I am a born minimalist, I could happily live in a white room with only a carpet and a comfy couch (and a laptop!!)
Me too MAR, I hate clutter, my mother is such a hoarder I feel claustrophobic in her house. she as so many dolls , cushions , quilted bed covers on her bed , that I reckon it takes her half hour to go to bed.......Her whole house is full, not of junk , but some real expensive stuff but it dont stand out cos she have so much , every room is full.............Seeing how she lives as sent me the other way , I love cream walls with no photos hanging, no ornaments , accept for a couple of table lamps , cream sofas , thats me ...............My kitchen looks as if no one live there, completely clear work tops.............................I love it ......:D
Dont forget on tv tonight at @ 8 " The Hoarder Next Door.".............................
I have not been on line for a few days , my puter didnt work, just couldnt get on line , so I had a local IT man came today and im sorted , I did miss puter last night , as then when I mostly use it , back all good now..........
I will do a back read in few mins and try to catch up with posts..........
MAR....If I were you id stop taking the sea kelp for 4 to 6 weeks , then start back on them again , sort of like giving yourself a re boot..........They may start working again for you, such a shame cos you were really doing well on them..........Catch you all later ...Sheila0 -
Typing this having watched Rise of The Working Poor, it's not showed me anything I didn't know. I did feel for the lady who was doing everything right now, but had built up £20 000 of debt prior to this point. Sobering viewing.
Enjoyed using my second Aldi voucher this evening. As most weeks, they now had stocks of all the Mirror coupon items that they didn't have last week, so stocks of flour in along with bread mix. Plus a lovely treat of deluxe Magnum style ice lollies...
DS does bread from scratch by hand as he finds it wonderfully theraputic. I shove a bag of bread mix with 11 fl oz of water into the food processor and press a button but I use bread for things like pizza bases and in place of pastry for Estonian mini pasties, rather than make loaves, whereas DS makes focaccia. (sp)
I made Jack Monroe's easy chicken satay this evening. VERY easy too, just 300 ml water, 5 big tbsp smooth peanut butter, a finely chopped chilli and a generous spoon of sugar heated together for the satay sauce and poured over Aldi's on offer chicken joints, shallow fried..
For anyone doing this recipe as well, do start the sauce off at the same time as the chicken, I did this as I figured it would take time to reduce to the consistency I wanted and I was right.
I liked it very much, far more so than I thought I would when I first mixed the sauce! I bought some cola to have a go at the Diet Coke chicken as well. Will try that next week perhaps.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Mcculloch am definitely going to try the satay one thank you.
Well its another busy one here, but things are moving forwards, carpet is fitted in bedroom, cleaner is downstairs cleaning and I am slowly moving furniture back to DD7 room, very slowly, whereas DS15 and I moved the chest of drawers in a few minutes this morning its taken me 20 to put it back.
Car is with mechanic, diagnosed and will cost £300 from dealer to buy, found a parts seller on the bay who had a sealed dealer part for £170 who I have paid extra to have it couriered here for tomorrow. So all looking good. Slightly panicked as mechanic goes on holiday Tues so it must be done. Little car at MOT station for final little parts then retest.
Still huge amount to be done today ready for DD7 birthday tomorrow, but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel now0
