Sorry yourself and the weather is blergh Mar, hope you get some oomph in the way of warm, light rays both externally and within... seems like you could do with some pudding and custard
We've all been up since sunrise today. Loads to do and much of it achieved.
The car, of course, failed it's MOT but impressed that the garage here found all the things we knew about and nothing more. The lads DH works (fellow manager that can weld and depot mechanic) with will be onto my car in the evenings next week. They don't want payment but DH is going to take them for a pint and meal to say thanks - we're getting parts at trade price too so really very pleased and appreciative.
Menu plan is done. I've tried to have a variety - 1 mince, 2 beef, 1 fish, 1 pork and 2 chicken meals. We're back to having fillers (dumplings, yorkshires, cheese scones etc) and I'm interested in doing a nut roast so will investigate.
We found Astonish do a mould killer so paid £1 in the hope it will work as good as the oven cleaner. It's a risk as the better stuff was £5 but ingredients seemed pretty much the same. White paint bought so looking forward to a clean fresh bathroom now the extractor fan has been fixed.
Please excuse me as I have to do hunt a plastic milk bottle out of the recycling and pierce the lid - embarrassingly DH is attempting to water in the grass seed with the kettle and a seive! Men!0 -
Fuddle - I hope the neighbours weren't watching!
Pooky - tell him it's a good thing to do as sometimes there are paid jobs available in the volunteer organisation which give you a heads up and a head start if you want to work for them. I have an interview on Monday for a part- time paid role, I would not have known about unless I was volunteering for them.
We must do more star-gazing here, we don't have a lot of light pollution, so the stars are wonderful.
We have awful black mould on the bathroom and kitchen ceiling and walls, it keeps coming back no matter what we use, and it is a pig to get a liquid up onto the ceiling without it all running down your arm - anyboody got any ideas how we can tackle it once and for all? The expensive sprays did not work, the Silly Bang stuff not much better .Think big thoughts but relish small pleasures0 -
Nope, MrsC I'm all ears though. Grey Queen was saying on t'other thread that bleach is no good as it doesn't kill. We've paid for mould blocker too in the hope that will help but I will be surprised if te mould doesn't come back in a few months.
There must be something huh?0 -
Well yes there must !
I am going to try white vinegar as I have loads, and it can't hurt -

The HG mould spray is pretty good and although I don't think it'll stop it forever, does seem to stop it coming back straight away. You can get it from homebase, amazon and lakeland etc. It is a bit whiffy but worth it esp as you can spray on and wipe off later.

Evening all,
Been reading along but not had time to post as work has been mad. Glad to hear you're feeling a bit better Princess.
Pleased to report that the kitten is home with us. The lady hadn't sexed them and the poor thing is so traumatised that we've decided to leave it. It is currently burrowed between its bed and a fleecy blanket. It has refused all food and drink, but hopefully it will have some when the house quietens down. It knows it is there as it has had its nose in.
Hugs to all, particularly baby zebra!x0 -
The Polar Vortex seems to have gone. it went from -7 to 7 today and the rest of the week is above zero, so hopefully the melt will take away some of the mountains of snow and ice on the streets.
Unfortunately, the change in the weather has brought on a headache that can best be described as almost a migrane, complete with nausea and a sore neck. So home from work, and a lie down. The thought of food makes me ill. And Mar, I'm hanging my head in shame but four jellybabies were too much. I thought I should eat them because I hadn't eaten in 12 hours and was worried about low blood sugars, yea right.
Hope Sunday is peaceful and quiet.0 -
WHAT COLOURS WERE THEY?? DID YOU EAT THE HEADS FIRST?? ....sobbing
