Glad you had a bit of a rest monnagran (having done all the work beforehand ;):D If the Rev is having a Sabbatical, does that mean she won't be taking any services at all during that time?

I agree that having to swap a favourite book permanently is an appalling idea. My children would have got very upset, particularly the book-obsessed one!

Well done to the little Stiltwalkers, especially Master Stiltwalker. I bet Little Miss S is thrilled to have her communication thingy again (sorry, mind's gone blank, can't remember what it's called :o) It must make things so much easier for everyone. Bless her heart.
Kidcat I don't envy you having all that packing to do, but it will be sooo worth it when the decorating's been done :):):)

Our grown-up DS's room is in dire need of decorating, but he has so much "stuff", most of it not even needed, that he doesn't know where to start and was quite despondent about it the other day. However, he has perked up and made a start by buying a big box of black bags. There are probably enough to "see us out" :rotfl:

He reckons he doesn't need about four-fifths of the things in his room. He also put a load of stuff in the loft a couple of years ago and hasn't needed any of it since, so I expect most of that can go as well :D Eventually....

Just waiting for my visiting chiropodist to arrive. She may have to cut my ingrowing toenail  I'm waiting for a referral to have it sorted out permanently. My GP winced when I asked to have it done, which was not encouraging :( but it gets painful in any case so better to get it sorted if i can.

Lovely and sunny here again today :) It makes everyone feel so much better!
  • Evening Toughies, been off the internet all day with a technical glitch but all better now. I'm off in the morning to visit DD and baby Zebra until Thursday so I'll be quiet until then ( OH GOOD I hear you think!!!) and will try to catch up with you all again on Thursday evening. Lyn xxx.

Hi all, sorry had a busy few days. But I have one funny storey to tell first. Yesterday we took a drive to suss out the holiday trip, we went to look for east midlands airport. Now we got nearly there and then I need the toilet badly, so OH said theres a super market round here..... And he saw up front an asda delivery van. So he decided to follow it, and it went round 2 corners and then stopped, you guessed it - delivering to a house!!! needless to say I started laughing and then I got tummy ache. We ended up stopping at the nearest pub, was an emergency. Then when we got in the pub we had a drink n some lunch, it was so cheap in there and a lovely little place.

We found the airport, and all sorted for parking too.

Had a couple of very long shifts at work, 14 hour days so not been home much. We were told Friday there is no year end bonus either, and we have worked so hard for one. All the shareholders get one.... made us all very angry.

OH has been told his job is safe, at least for now. so that's one thing.

Eldest DD went harry plopper place in Watford today, was her birthday present from us, she is 23 on Wednesday. I am 42 tomorrow, gosh I feel old saying it.

Well must start tea, take care all x

Stiltwalker - wow, what a weekend, definitely one to remember

MrsLW - have a lovely time squidging with zebra :)

FPK - if you want to upload onto here you need to host it at an upload site - imageshack is one and photobucket another I think. I am sure kitty did a wonderful guide once (but I may have imagined that)

Nutty - I think its appalling to not give out bonus at all, but its great that OH job is safe

Been mad busy today, mot car, ike@, and usual chaos, still finishing rooms ready for tomorrow. Then got call to collect DD7 from school 30 mins before the end, I assumed she must be incredibly ill to warrant a call 30 minutes before the end. However I have yet to find anything wrong with her!!
Think we as sorted as possible until morning, hope so anyway.
Have taken a chair to the tip and ordered DD7 new carpet to be fitted friday - havent told OH about either yet, he was out at 5am, not due home until 8.30 ish and out again at 5am tomorrow - he thinks he will be back around 9pm tomorrow.
Made executive decision about bookcases today and am sending both to charity shop. I have about one month until we put stuff back so I plan to look for part bookcase part cupboard to replace old ones with.

Still need to find handyman to build wardrobes, but have called a few and waiting on call back.

    Hi,

Ivyleaf: Ho ho. It means that not only does she not have to take services, she is not supposed to have anything to do with church at all. A bit difficult when you live next door to it and everyone knows where you are. One of her very elderly parishioners was taken into hospital last night. She wanted to go and see her but if she wanted to get into the hospital outside visiting hours she would have to wear her collar. So she hid it with a scarf and thanked her lucky stars it wasn't a heat wave (remember those) in July. I am phone monitor and have ask sharply what people want if they ring up. Hire the church hall for a concert? Sorry. An invitation to dinner? Yes please.

We are off to the mainland tomorrow on the hunt for 2 new sofas and a quick shufti round Ikea.

    That's all folks.

    x
