    Morning everyone.

Thank you for all the well wishes and support. I am extremely sore, More work was needed than expected. I have stitches on one side of my mouth. The other side has a severe infection which means they couldn’t stitch that part.

My face is puffy & bruising. My arm is pretty much the same. Stringing to sentences together is proving difficult.

I have to say I often moan about the NHS (Getting doctors appointments ect) But the dental surgeon & nurse was amazing. I cannot find one fault them what so ever.

Everyone was amazed on how well I coped. I’m needle phobic & dental phobic, But managed on my own to have the needle done with no fuss. The rest is blank.

Dental sedation is amazing. I was really worried that I would wake up during the work being done, But I never & the only thing I remember, Was someone holding my head because the last tooth was difficult getting out and felt some slight pain / discomfort. Then being woke up.

They was also shocked how quickly I came around from the sedation. They said normally it takes 30 - 40 minutes. I was up, talking & walking within 8.

The only side effect I have at the moment, Is I’m still sleepy, forgetful. But I was told for some people it can take as much as 4 days for sedation to completely remove itself from the human body. Maybe, I’m one of those.

I am having one quite serious issue. I have no eaten since Wednesday night. Other than yoghurts I’m completely unable to eat anything. So I’ve been told to make sure I drink plenty and try getting some sort of food supplement.

Anyways off for a lay down now. Thanks again for everything. Your all AMAZING! xx

    Become debt free.
    Beat Depression.
    Be happy & healthy

Oh Princess ((hugs)) you have done so well, hope you feel better soon.

Monnagran - oops, and I often find that the more organised I am in cooking the less successful I am :)

Princess I am glad it all went well. Try some Complan made with milk, it has a lot of calories as well as vitamins and minerals but that is what you need at the moment if you can't eat.

So glad things went well for you Princess, I hope that having such a good experience will help you be less fearful for the next time.

Some people do seem to take quite a time to clear the anasthetic from their body, and you went though so much stress you are bound to feel utterly washed out.

Unless you are severly underweight, I would not worry too much about food yet, just make sure you are drinking loads, and have the yoghurt. No point in stressing yourself more about it, things will sort themselves out in their own time and you will know when, you will probably have a fancy for something fairly random!

  • PX87 you've slayed your dragon and come out the victor girlie, I'm so very proud of you, having some idea of just how scared you were, I don't think any of us can really know just how much though. You have conquered your fears and I hope you are as proud of yourself as we all are of you!!! Look after yourself now and make sure you take some calories on board or you'll feel dizzy and poorly. Could you face ice cream? or milkshakes with some extra dried milk powder in to give you some extra nutrition and some ice cream whizzed in too? That would keep your insides ticking over until you do feel able to eat love, good luck!

I've just been to the local jumble sale and for the princely sum of £2 I've aquired a decent sized heavy enamel casserole and lid in deep orange, 4 x espresso cups and saucers, an enamel mug with giraffes on,2 matching vases with violets on for DD1 to go with the teaset I've put together for her over the years, none of it the same make but all with violets on, it looks lovely together though, and a blue and white covered footed oval dish to go on my dresser, slightly chipped on one side but perfect on the side I'll have on show, not bad eh?

We have lovely sunshine and blue sky at the moment and I had a lovely early morning walk with Docky but it was cold, in fact we've still got frost on the grass in the places the sun hasn't reached yet Brrrrrr!!! Hope you've all got some sunshine too, it really lifts your spirits after all the wet and windy weeks we've had, Cheers Lyn xxx.

Im sat here wrung out like a damp mop but extremely happy. We had Dgs to stay for 4 days and it all went amazingly well. I made a unilateral decision that there would be no stress after accepting that Oh wouldnt be out of bed a lot to help and it worked. Had only tiny meltdowns and Dgs soon worked out that it was going to be ok with Grandma and that she had a secret store of ice lollies and jellybeans ( strictly rationed). He made a major milestone this week and started having wee's at school :j Before he happily held it till he got home or to the childminders. His Ta is very pleased. Luckily he has the most amazing, laid back childminder in the world who still did her shifts which meant his routine was the same. Now Im going to collapse in a heap for the rest of the weekend.

So many success's on the thread and am sending hugs to those in need. Princess, well done you :T Shegar Oh had nose troubles after playing rugby for years, the surgery years ago was a total success and he hasnt had a problem since. Hope its a good for you. Kidcat divorce your bloomin parents for goodness sake - adopt me instead and I promise to be supportive and bring cake :D Lyn give Ezra/Zebra a squeeezy hug from Auntie Ginny please and tell Docky he is still my best boy.

    Hello toughies,

Good to hear from your Princess - you were very brave, well done. Just need to recover properly now, as long as you are drinking you will be fine. Good suggestions from others.

Ginny - lovely to hear about DGS's stay - now enjoy the rest!

Well done on getting the mag done monna - eeek to the kitchen mishap - very annoying. Back to the tried and trusted "non system" then!!

Great bargains Mrs LW. Haven't been to a jumble or car boot for yonks.... will add to my list of things to do and places to go. I LOVE a good rummage, used to help my mum at the school jumbles in the 70s and was in 7th heaven even at that age.

Lucky DH with the pizza Possession!

I didn't end up having any wine. I need to start loosing weight, absolute need so decided not to have wine - less calories, less money spent and no worries re ADs (and bliddy boring!) I am going to buy some non-alcoholic drinks when next shopping though to keep if I fancy a treat. Quite partial to a couple of the "sluur" drinks and the fizzy tizzy apple one.

Can see the bottom of the laundry bin now, DS9 has done some of his homework, boys and I played a great game of Cluedo and we also spent a couple of hours sorting out some of their toys and games. I have a sizeable collection for the charity shop and bit less clutter.

Haven't done anything exciting for a long time with the children so planning to go out for the day somewhere tomorrow whilst DH studies (as he is now). Might even venture to London to a free museum, have one in mind already.

I feel different this week, like the cloud of depression is lifting and I can see some blue sky peeping out :):):). Hoping it lasts, if it does I will make the most of some extra energy to sort the house out, get fitter and generally have my fun with (and without) the kids.

    sq :)

    Hi all,

Its a working weekend for me, but my brain is moving very, very slowly. Thought I'd pop in for a break.

Monna:rotfl: sounds about right. Although I had cooked some when I first moved to the UK, it had been more on the scale of 'keep myself alive' or 'bake as a hobby.' The first time I tried to bake something that used what in the US is called vegetable shortening/crisco I wasn't sure what the equivalent would be here. I used lard. It was. Interesting. Your story gave me flashbacks to that cake. :rotfl: I knew butter or olive oil wouldn't be a good substitute, no idea why I thought lard was. Perhaps it was the colour.

SQ I recently discovered that there is an elderflower cordial in a tall green bottle (next to the apple stuff) that is very nice mixed with fizzy water. The cordial goes quite a long way, and I believe a large bottle of fizzy water is about 17p in Mr. Ts. Its even nicer if you put it in a wine glass with a wedge of fruit on the side. Very posh.:D

Princess so glad your experience was so positive. Perhaps some jelly as a nice intro to eating? It is gentle both on a sore mouth and a wobbly tummy. It doesn't have many calories, but it can help you build up to other things.

Kidcat I find that any time someone wants to compare their situation to yours and know why you aren't living up its best to leave the conversation. There is nothing wrong with hiring a cleaner, but there is a lot wrong with making other people feel small or inadequate for not doing things your way. Enjoy your clean house and ignore the comments.

I have a friend who seems to turn every conversation into a competition about who has it harder. When things are going well for me I'm better about taking it on the chin and remembering that she has many struggles and this is probably her way of venting. When things aren't going so well for me, such as now when i feel tired or overwhelmed, I'm not so great. I've been avoiding her for over a week, although I saw her at work yesterday. Our conversation reminded me of what a lovely thread this is and how welcome I always feel sharing troubles large or small and how often I see others doing the same. Just wanted to echo what Princess said, you're all Amazing!

    Hi everyone,
I am hidden away with a coffee, quick 5 mins peace :coffee:
Feel quite guilty, youngest children are going to my mums tonight for a few hours, they don't know yet ! Don't think they will be happy ..last time they were there was Christmas, just don't like asking her to have them, there's not a problem or we have never fell out ,just when I had the eldest 2children she and my dad had them a lot,as I had 2 jobs and was only me to pay the bills.,so when younger kids came along ,life changed and didn't need the extra childcare ...feel like she has done more than enough to help me ....so don't like to ask..sorry just feel ugggg ... We are going to the customs house in south shields to see Tyne ,carnt remember the last time me and dh were out...must be 5 or 6 years ...god that sounds sad...just tend to gear everything around kids .... Last time we had a night away was nearly 8 years ago ... Anyway tonight should be good :rotfl: ......gosh sorry for the long post....x
