Oh Sheila I hope the op goes well for you and relieves the pain. It's hard - and yet all too easy - to believe that SS still haven't sorted out DH's care plans. You really deserve a break.
Where do we stand on dance classes? DD has started a freestyle class and is very keen. They are quite a big group and got onto Britain's Got Talent a couple of years ago. I only signed up for the dance classes (figuratively speaking, I haven't signed anything and you don't pay in advance!) but it seems they do monthly competitions which involve elaborate and very skimpy costumes that I'm really not happy with her wearing at the age of 8, and I definitely do not want to be roped into making them! There has also been mention of make up, fake tan and false eyelashes - don't know if that's true but it definitely won't be happening! I know I am going to end up the bad guy, and sooner rather than later. But it's the only thing she's ever been enthusiastic about doing and will be great for her fitness.0 -
Oh Shegar (((hugs))) I hope all goes well and that it fixes the problem at least. As for SS am so mad on your behalf, how dare they leave you like this, it was such a hard decision to make and now they are dragging it out.
We survived DS9 first day back at school, he was awful this morning, really uncooperative, throwing things etc. I knew it would be bad so was mentally ready, but its very draining. He will be worse tomorrow as well, so we have that to look forward to.
My mother called earlier to ask how kids were etc, during the conversation I slipped up and mentioned cleaner. She went ballistic, apparently as I "only" stay at home rather than getting a "proper" job (she didnt go out to work until I was 16) I am a total failure if I cant keep my house immaculate and show condition, after all what exactly do I do all day?
She went on that using OH working all hours wasnt a good enough excuse for my failings, my father worked long hours and her house was always super clean!
When I could get a word in I pointed out she had a tiny house, one child who travelled independently to school from the age of 4 and didnt have any additional needs. Which apparently is just a ridiculous excuse for my laziness and bad mothering.
So I finished the conversation with the words - well I cant be that bad a mother cos at least my kids dont hate me, avoid all contact and try to screen my calls! then hung up.
I wont be accepting any more of her calls.0 -
I will pass on all the lovely messages for Pops, in case he hasn't seen them. He was quite poorly this week and missed the live music club, he's well on the road to recovery now, but with his immune system not being good, it wasn't the best thing that could have happened.
Thank you to my new FB friends, :j and to anyone else who would be okay with me as a friend, please send a pmm or add me on FB via one of the FB regulars whom I have already added, if they are mutual friends of ours. A quick search on my surname will find me.
I have had a lovely time looking through my new Jack Monroe cookbook that arrived today :money: . I know some of you have plans to get this, well, you have a real treat in store.
I reviewed it on Am@zon already, as I have tried a few of Jack's recipes from her blog and I know that they work really well. I would have liked to have bought it from an independent bookseller but using Am@zon I was able to get it for free, with survey vouchers.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... McC - thank you,
Please wish pops well soon for me too
Have added you on FB I think
Possession - dance classes,, err yes nightmare, we went with one her friends attend and is the least offensive to OH! Some of the outfits worn at these things make me blushDD7 had to wear glittery eye shadow and blusher for her performance, but when they were on the stage it was obvious why they needed it. No false lashes etc. One class we looked at insisted on fake tan for performances.

Kidcat, honestly, will they never get the message? How dare your mother belittle you, it just shows what an awful unsupportive person she is. I am afrad she and my father are cut from the same cloth - unless they are controlling your every waking (and sleeping) hour, they are not happy. You can never win, best to cut all ties, or at the very least keep them as far away as possible.Think big thoughts but relish small pleasures0
-
Thanks MrsC we have almost cut all ties but had allowed a very small amount of contact for the sake of the children, we will now cut it down even further.0

Have a ((((hug)))) kidcat and anyone else who needs it.
Some of the mothers at these dance things are a nightmare. I used to take my knitting and sit in a corner while ds and dgs were there.0 -
Just a quick post before bed, can hardly keep my eyes open. Thinking particularly about Shegar and kidcat and sending my best hugs. Hope you are ok Princess?
Get well wishes to POPS.

Kidcat have you picked a name for the cat yet? I've finally sorted out 3 breeders locally and will go round them and pick the best one. All are saying kittens will be ready end of June. We've picked our name0
