  • Thanks all of you for your support about the nasty Pms. I like to think that we are all civilised people who contribute to this thread and able to say what we think to each other without deliberately causing offence, it always comes as a shock to hear of things being said on purpose to hurt someone but I guess there will always be those who derive a certain perverse pleasure from being able to. I think the best thing for all of us, including the poster who is hurt by this will be business as normal and just get on with chatting and helping each other the way we always have done. Best way to thwart nastiness is not to play and not to draw too much attention to the furore caused. So, onwards and upwards my friends, Lyn xxx.

I just wanted to flag up that it had happened in case anyone else has been the recipient of nasty PMs too!!!

I think that wasn't handled as well as it could have been stilty. As possession said though she may have been stressed with lots of other things or even felt a bit guilty that she hadn't thought as you did. Still really no excuse but maybe a reason. A calm chat sounds the thing.

Nutty - I really don't get that rude man! None of his business and why wouldn't people use vouchers? Every single person I have chatted to in said shop (and there have been many ;) ) has said how you have to shop round etc to keep up with rising prices. What a silly man!

Poor DH, he has just logged on to his personal emails and he has failed the last exam he sat. Not a good week for him.

ps POPS if you are reading.... come back!

    Afternoon chaps

Nasty pm's need ignoring or reporting - I'm in favour of doing the latter and then the former.

I'm in a "meh" kinda mood today, can't really get focused on anything. It was really manky weather wise first thing but has cleared into a bright, sunny afternoon (typically just as DH has gone back to bed) Would have been nice to go out for a wander along the cliffs.

Snow forecast for tomorrow here, it may stick as we're high up - will look prettier than the mud anyway :)

HFW bacon and leek pudding steaming as I type :) recipe on guardian online. Another evening off so I can play housewife :D

My lovely neighbour has cut back our hedge while she was doing her own. I'd love to gift her something handmade and I'm thinking a lemon drizzle cake as can do them pretty much without fail. She's 70 but by gosh you wouldn't know it!

Monnagran have you ruffled any official's feathers yet re: your friend?

I'm nearly out of my blanket wool. Using acrylic so not too bad to get more but as my bed blanket is huge a ball doesn't go very far. DH was is London overnight and I found myself lying in bed crocheting listening to radio 4 (until they spoke about green ways of burying bodies that is) I did feel a little old (sorry!) but you can't beat contentment eh?
  • Can I come for supper FUDDLE? I bet the house smells wonderful!!!

It does! I've only ever had my grandma's onion pudding so know there's more frugal ways of making a savoury steamed pud, but this smells wonderful.

The only draw back is DH is stuck in traffic and not even on the M25 yet. Probably gone 9pm when he gets home. I shall have to tuck in before then!
  • How noble you are my dear, being the official taster, I hope he appreciates such dedication and I hope you can leave enough for him if it's as good as it sounds, Lyn xxx.
