I could do with the address link (or whatever it is called) that is usually at the top of the forum/thread you are in. I used to go into a thread and instead of hitting the back button I could go to the top of the thread and click the spider link back through (either going to the main forum, sub thread etc). Its a shortcut type navigator. If you know what it is, I would like to have it back !! Also preferred it when the thread title went from bold to light when you had viewed the thread and changed back to bold if there were new posts, doesn't seem to be working anymore.
Otherwise, site looks cleaner, albeit, huge gap down the right side of the screen. Is there anyway of centralising?
Yep! I agree we need this bit back, Ive highlighted the missing bit see below ie.

There is more not less space in the Forum!
Morning folks, I'm really glad to see the site's up and running. Thanks for all the feedback.
It's interesting to read the reaction about the right hand bar. It's exactly the same as when the original left hand bar was increased.
Those who are saying "there's a big gap on the right", do remember "there used to be a big gap on the left" and this way those on 800x600 don't have to scroll right to read posts. It's the same size, so there's no space lost - in fact we worked incredibly hard to get the right hand browse bar from the main site to squeeze into that small space.
Plus there's less waste at the top. I think the problem is you can't see the old forum - well I've done the mesurements and the forum actually starts three lines higher (partly by putting the forum etiquette in on the right.).
I know the change is a shock. It always is, but as happened the last time my view is in a week or two once the 'change' feeling has gone you'll realise all the bonuses.

ummm ...MSE_Martin wrote: »The look, the frame, the set up (the main site is now fixed width, the forum stretchy), the navigation. The site is an editorial site so articles are primary; there are now slightly changed sections.
Some of you may feel it looks a little busy/cluttered/too many colours. These were criticisms of the old look too. We did first try a version which had many less words and much more white space. And guess what? It looked very professional and very commercial, just like all the 'flog 'em stuff' sites out there. So I decided to stick with the feel of the old site.
The forum width isn't stretchy, and is inconsistent on an 800 wide page.
On the ordinary forum display, about half of the green redundant width on the right is shown, so that to view the sidebar-like features at the top of the page, it's necessary to scroll sideways, much as it was before when this was on the left.
But as I've just noticed while writing this, and previewing it, in these modes the forum width itself fills the full 800 wide page, and the green side part is off the shown part of the screen. If the forum were like this all the time [I may have to edit this post if it's changed while I'm writing - edit: no] I think I'd prefer that, and I expect that people with 1024 and 1280 screen width might like that option too. Trouble is, that right menu part would then upset Martin by not being shown at all on most people's screens.MSE_Martin wrote: »[Those who are saying "there's a big gap on the right", do remember "there used to be a big gap on the left" and this way those on 800x600 don't have to scroll right to read posts.
I'm rather surprised at adding this redundant width back in, as the provisional version shown the other day was exact screen width for the first time I've ever seen on this forum, as I said the other dayI've always thought the present layout looked a bit cluttered at the top, and wished the side menu on the left could be moved to the top
So I liked it earlier, particularly that the forum page was full width without borders and no longer needed sideways scrolling to centre it. There were a couple of detail overlaps in the top right corner, as mentioned above; this is IE6 (800 x 600).
And the forum menu tree* is virtually invisible, or perhaps was it not even shown at all earlier? Which means after viewing 2 or 3 pages of a thread, for a while it seemed the best way out was pressing the Back button several times. Can it be moved a bit lower in the page, perhaps below the search box and report banner, and use slighty larger or bolder type?
