Problems when needing to select smilie icons when replying to a thread, the smilies are only being viewed as text and not actual icons to select. Once selected they are displayed correctly in your actual posted reply tho':D

I like it (so far, lol). It seems to look more professional than the old one, although I did like the old one too.

Like the sharper colours, just right tone.. not too 'in your face' or brash.

Not sure about the side panel being over there -> but I daresay I'll get used to it. I'm lucky in that I bought one of those Grabbit HP widescreen monitors so I can see everything easily. :D

I'm sure I'll come across stuff that I don't like but first impressions are good.

Well done on all your hard work.

Well done to everyone for their efforts.

I like the crisp look of the new site, but I have clicked on items in "ones not to miss" on the right and the links do not appear to be working for me.

I could do with the address link (or whatever it is called) that is usually at the top of the forum/thread you are in. I used to go into a thread and instead of hitting the back button I could go to the top of the thread and click the spider link back through (either going to the main forum, sub thread etc). Its a shortcut type navigator. If you know what it is, I would like to have it back !!

I know exactly what you mean - I tend to bookmark particular threads to come back to - and used to use those links to get from those threads back into the various sub forums they were on. I know it didn't Look very nice, but not having it is a bit of a pain.

Silly Niggle that irritates me - the Shadow around the Forum speech bubble top right... gets cut off around the edges (i.e. the Blur tries to go outside the edge of the actual Graphic, which of course it can't.)

It's also quite common practice to have parts of the main banner of a website (particularly the site name), return you to the home page when clicked. Odd that that hasn't been done - but yet the time has been taken to add a Home Page button. Made even more odd by them then not having enough button room to make the Protect Your Pocket button big enough to fit the type in...

EDIT: Now that other people have mentioned the breadcrumb WAS there and just hard to find - I see it now! Some designer somewhere just likes their mouse too much. Lets have big gaps between things, they won't mind that Chasm between the forum and the scroll bar... :)

I generally like the new look, a crisper more professional finish. Not sure about the forum being over to the left of the page with a big gap on the right...Also can't find the shortcut to take me back to the main forum page
...oh just found it now, too small and too near the top maybe.

Hi. New site is looking good and definitely an improvement. A few comments from me:

Breadcrumbs: Too small and initially hard to find.

Forum right-hand menu: Not a problem for me as use a widescreen monitor with a high resolution. I imagine it's a pain for standard 800x600s, tho. Perhaps implement a collapsible (show/hide) menu similar to the one on this website: http://www.sitepoint.com/article/build-your-own-ajax-web-apps

Font: I have and never will like the use of Arial fonts on the web. I find them incredibly hard to read. The forum font (Verdana) is perfect, however. Any chance of using this font throughout the entire site? It would make articles and text much easier to read for many people, especially when there's as much content on the page as there is on MSE.

Layout: I'm finding it difficult to distinguish one article from another on the home page and sub-sections. Of course, the hyperlinked titles separate them but I don't think it's enough. Perhaps increase the margin between these elements to make it easier to determine one from another. Also, it might be worth adding a faint border colour to each element so that featured card/loans article boxes would be blue, banking/saving would be orange, etc. From a usability perspective, it would certainly assist in navigating the site.

If I spot anything else I'll add it.

    Good work. :)

First impressions are that it looks good. It always takes little while to get used to a new look and to refind my way around. The only niggle is the navigation tree at the top - it's just taken 2 of us 10 minutes to find it and it's way too small and not in bold so hard to see and being seperated from the forums doesn't help.

Sorting out the emotis would be good too ;)
