For about a year now I've been using a new Aldi that cropped up between my workplace and the motorway for 'top up' shopping on the way home. Last night one of the spaces near the entrance had barriers around it and a shiny new pole for the ANPR camera had been installed, along with others for signage.

Odd really as there is lots of onstreet parking around there and a massive unrestricted supermarket car park across the road (these have long since kicked out their PPC)

Once the signs go up I'll see if I can cross reference them with the local planning dept :)

You need to name the place !

I see that Gina the Aldi groupie is still blindly defending the store. and stating that it's allways the fault of the customer if they stay over the designated time.

Indeed, check with the local planning dept regarding any planning permission by Parking Eye to put the poles and signs up, plus any planning permission for the car-park (i.e. parking for 2 hours but Aldi are saying 1 hour)

A relative of mine has made 4 separate attempts to shop at the new Bishop's Stortford Aldi. Each time had to leave empty handed as there was not one single parking space free. So far she could not see any signage about Parking Eye. There is no on street or public parking anywhere near this store.

    Yes but this is why:

It will have an emptier car park once people realise about the typical Aldi (going by their own fb page) mouldy food and cashiers who throw your goods at you.

I wonder if she is Sarah? Bit of a coincidence that her profile only became active just after Sarah had deleted all her Aldi posts.

Also noticed that her writing style has changed considerably from being well composed, spelled correctly and articulate (she even corrected herself in a following post), to writing like a chav. :rotfl:

Shortly to be replaced by ParkingEye's very own version of a 'Golden Envelope'!

I'll do exactly that once the signs have gone up and I've confirmed the restrictions they're imposing.

Still, I do have one for the resident planning bloodhounds:

A colleague today told me that Parking Eye cameras have gone up at Aldi Failsworth in the last month or so, with a 1.5 hr limit. This is a largely residential area and adjacent to a sizeable (and currently unrestricted) Tesco car park.

Sadly Oldham council don't appear to let you search for historical applications online.
