The posts by lidl Great Britain on the aldi page is funny, but not as funny as the reply from someone who actually thinks that it's really lidl!!

The reply to Libby is so funny. Probably a bit too near the knuckle to copy here, but for all to see on the Aldi FB page.

But if you want to read the FB page of the 'Lidl' originator here is the link.

Please note - this is NOT for the faint hearted, it's definitely adult with a capital A.

If you're easily offended, do not click this link, if you do, don't go flaming me - you have been warned

    That is hilarious!

Scroll down to all the jokey posts about someone having 15 children including at least one with the beautiful British name of Chardonnay, and then there's this:

''Good evening folks, and welcome to our new page!

As you can see, we are advertising our infamous holidays and short breaks and for this cracking price, who can resist?

This weeks spotlight is Hull, and we have our guest reviewer filling us in on his recent destination:
"Well, where can I start. The buildings are magnificent, the local people are a tad scummy but none the less, friendly and very welcoming and the tourist attractions are spot on, there is something for everyone! There is even a Lidl here too amongst the local shops, such as B&M and Wilkinsons, so you won't feel out of place from your council hometown. Me and the missus brought £56.80 with us and we still had money left over at the end of the break! Real value for money, I can't praise it enough!"

Well, there you have it! A true holiday resort for the poor and needy, but for those that deserve that Lidl bit extra!

    Thank-you all!

I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.

    Yes but this is why:

    http://www.hertsandessexobserver.co.uk/News/Bishops-Stortford/Golden-envelopes-for-first-100-Aldi-customers-at-new-Stortford-store-20131111124642.htm

It will have an emptier car park once people realise about the typical Aldi (going by their own fb page) mouldy food and cashiers who throw your goods at you.

Thanks for the link, nothing there to explain why the car park is totally full for several weeks though.
My rel loves to shop at Aldi (when possible, and so far never at Bishops' Stortford - for nearest Aldi parking see Chelsmford!).

She criticises it on points, e.g mis-described products, but always returns....

Mouldy items? Happens with all supermarkets, had to take fruit back to Waitrose many a time, at least you get your cash back PLUS the item replaced - doubt Aldi match that.

Anyway, to stay on topic, Aldi should employ real people to mind the parking rather than commit PR hari kari. Why can't those Big Issue sellers not work as parking attendants instead/as well?

Most supermarkets already have people working in the car parks, they do a number of jobs, like trolley collections & picking litter up and so on, so it wouldn't be that much to also help people with shopping and parking. My local hospital basically has someone directing motorists to parking bays and helping disabled people with wheelchairs and so on. I wait in anticipation the first supermarket to change their policies to suit.
When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

A relative of mine has made 4 separate attempts to shop at the new Bishop's Stortford Aldi. Each time had to leave empty handed as there was not one single parking space free. So far she could not see any signage about Parking Eye. There is no on street or public parking anywhere near this store.

I was there today and sure enough it is infested with Parking Eye. (1 1/2 hr stay) I wouldn't say that the signs were too obvious and of course the print on the signs is tiny. Pity the driver who can't find a parking space and returns to try again as the car park is pretty small. I'm sure quite a few unsuspecting motorists have been caught out already.
