It's coming to the crazy weekend (last payday for monthly paid people before Christmas), I wonder how many invoices Parking Eye will raise when the shops are busy with christmas shoppers?

It will be everything they could possibly wish for from Father Christmas. Festive fines filling Rachel's stockings. :)

  • Don't know if anyone has said or done this, but what if at any of the offending supermarkets, lots of people were to fill the trolleys to the brim, frozen food and then call over the manager and say "I am leaving this full trolley your side of the till as I am about to run out of time in your car park and have no time to pay and load

you would probably find yourself being banned form that supermarket, as for an organised protest that would take someone to organise something
    From the Plain Language Commission:

"The BPA has surely become one of the most socially dangerous organisations in the UK"
  • Banned how --- with my picture on the door - not to be let in, or maybe my picture on the tills not to be served once I reach the checkout with my trolly full to the brim.
  • It's tempting laststraw to do it.

Our Aldi's has no sign on the entrance and tonight when it was dark only one light was on in the car park which gave enough light to see your car but no signs were really visible.

I'm that paranoid now about parking anywhere LOL

It's been so quiet on there for the past couple of days that I thought PE had turned over a bit of a new leaf - but rest assured, no chance. Here's the latest vulnerable to be persecuted - at just 87 years old. Appalling ..... as ever.
an elderley lady i know aged 87 has just received £70 fine for parking 10 mins longer than the allowed 1.5 hrs at Swindon store. She was in the store all the time and with shopping and long queue could not get out the store on time.
I think this is disgusting on the part of Aldi.
The local paper will be interested in this story and i would like people to know that the parking fees are just a scam and on no accounts should anyone pay them.

Anna Sawyer I've just received an exact same fine! Having spent £200 in the store doing a full shop and some Christmas extras. my store in Ely was rammed and they never have enough tills opened, not mention the empty re-fill empty re-pack palaver. Not the message Aldi want to be sending those savvy shoppers happy to convert to their Store to save money!!!!! Shoppers beware !!!!!!

Simon Cook Do not pay! They can't do anything

Anna Sawyer And 90 minutes is nowhere near long enough, for this time of the year!!!!

Tony Pettie Don't pay but don't ignore. Appeal to PE which will 99% certainly get rejected but they must give you a POPLA code allowing you to appeal to POPLA that you will 99% certainly win if you appeal on the correct points. And it will cost PE £27 plus VAT and you nothing Nor is it binding on you but it is them! Yes - a crazy set up. You can find out how to guarantee you will win at Pepipoo or MoneySavingExpert parking forum (prop. Martyn Lewis regular contributor to BBC) and ConsumerAction Group. And check with the local council to see if they are in breach of planning permission car park conditions they often are. Another branch of Aldi was revealed doing this today!).

Of course Aldi's current groupie would say that the old lady is a "chancer" and deserves to get a parking ticket.

I see that Aldi's PR company are still trotting out that "email us" reply to the 87 year old woman who does not know how to use a computer. Idiots!

  • Nice piece about the chap who got the council involved and they had to make it clear the signs should say 2 hour parking for Local Shoppers. The poster asked PR drones when they were going to roll out the signs universally, no answer yet.
I hope the PR mob are being paid very well cos they are haveing to fend off a lot of flack.
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.
