  • I had a post moved but not deleted and a note from the PR mob saying that it has been moved and mention forum rules. I asked if it offended forum rules why was it moved and not just deleted. Still waiting for answer.

Does this take the 2013 prize for the most ludicrous PCN issued by PE on behalf of Aldi?

Maximum parking time available 30 minutes.
Time in the car park 30 minutes and 50 seconds.
    £70 please
After visiting the Stockport store on Newbridge Lane for a few bits, i was horrified to receive a parking fine for £70, and was even more horrified to read that the time allowed without penalty is 30 minutes and my overstay was 50 seconds. Who does there shopping in under 30 minutes?. However, after looking at the internet at advice from legal experts, these parking fines arent worth the paper they are written on so just ignore them. Disappointing though that Aldi feel the need to damage there own business by such a money making underhand scam. My advice would be to do your shopping at Waitrose by taxi if you intend paying the fines as it will work out cheaper.

The 50 seconds overstay is now the subject of a Parking Prankster blog.

Why are Aldi continuing to allow themselves to come in for so much scorn and ridicule as a result of their support of the avaricious PE pickpocketing of their very own customers?

They're even having to take someone on at 27 grand to deal with upset and distressed customers, the cause of which?

    ParkingEye, ticketing sans frontieres!

You really couldn't make this stuff up!

50 Seconds, probably explains why the BPA were noncommittal on what a minimum grace period should be.
  • If PE don't offer a grace period then they do not offer 30mins parking, they offer only 30mins on site. Therefore signs are not correct etc.

Pranky's blog had been copied and pasted into the Aldi FB page but has had the Room 101 treatment from Weber Shandwick. I don't know why, I can't remember any links in the post, which apparently break their FB rules.

I suspect that situation could be easily remedied for those who might have missed it :D

  • Just to report that Parking EYe has been removed from thier Derby Store, next to the A38 and Hospital.

Which is good. But my gripe was that when you were at the till, the staff could have said "Make sure you type your reg into the machine" but no, they pretended it didn't exist.
