Aldi Facebook Page Kicking Off after Parking Eye LBAs

Can anyone please tell me what all the fuss is about on this thread?
As far as I can see, you are allowed to park for 90 minutes in an Aldi car park - surely that is more than enough time to park, do the shopping, load up and then leave, after all, there is only a limited amount of browsing you can do in Aldi, and it isn't as though they have a cafe or anything.
Maybe Aldi just want to stop people not shopping there, using their car park, whilst they wander off an a tour of the local town centre, instead of paying for parking like everyone else.
Why is it, that people nowadays feel "ENTITLED" to do what they want, and then moan when someone points out that they are in the wrong?
90 minutes to look around Aldi?
It takes me 90 minutes to do a tour of Selfridges or Harrods - not that I can afford anything there, but they are interesting places.
And here's a nice little example for you from just yesterday .To Aldi
I have a parking fine for using your store for spending £143 which takes a bit of time to shop for and being 11 minutes late returning to my car due to your till girl smashing a bottle of red wine and being in a busy queue waiting for her to clean it up.
I'm not a clairvoyant so I cant foresee the time its going to take to be in the queue or how many bottles are going to be smashed on a particular day.
I like how people can use your car park not go in the shop at all and return within the time limit and have no fine, makes perfect sense (sarcasm)
I now no longer wish to shop here if this is the way you treat loyal customers and I think everyone I know will feel the same way.
Hooray for Selfridges, hooray for HarrodsPlease note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

And here's another one from today @andygb, starting their journey, probably en route to a day out in court with Aldi's blessing. As much as I liked Aldi's products and prices, I won't be shopping there again after receiving a parking penalty from the Tottenham store. The time limit is 60 mins and I was told that "research" has told Aldi that 28 mins is enough time for a shop. On what planet is 28 minutes enough time for me to shop for a family of 5, with a 3 year old in tow? Plus all the parent and child spaces were taken by people without children. That meant hauling a trolley and a child back and forth through the car park. I shall shop in future in establishments that allow plenty of time for me to shop, therefore allowing me to probably spend more in the store. Aldi's loss!
I wonder if you're starting to get the hang of this yet?

There's a bit of a 'discussion' going on in a thread on the Aldi FB page. Take a look at the advice given by a 'barrister' to one of the posters. Also look at the last 'clip' below. Are Customers legally obliged to pay the charges?
You seem to allow Parking Eye to decide whether the parking charge can be waivered under some circumstances. I assume all "fines" go to them, so how can their judgement be impartial?
10 hours agoApparently they can, I have spoken to a Barrister and he has said that as long as the notices are clearly marked they can enforce a fine on motorist who overstay there welcome, They can also contact the DVLC to establish ownership (They pay for the privelege) I think if it happened to me I would consider my options and shop somewhere elseI think that there is also a serious issue here with regards to privacy. The DVLA as a government organisation MUST be giving out personal information to these people. Could some wrong un with a prison record and/or a history of violence etc. set up one of these parking enforcement organisations and get info from the DVLA?

Hmmm ..... lets see. Aldi Portslade - 3 hours limit in the planning permission along with allowing people to park there to use the other local shops.
Aldi then ignored these conditions and restricted parking to 2 hours and to their customers only.
Thankfully Brighton and Hove Council took them to court and they were fined. Why ? Because they kept ignoring the councils repeated requests that they adhere to planning permission. The Portslade store isn't the only Aldi store that has and is breaking planning permission.0 -
It's so refreshing being out in Canada, the supermarket car parks have limits, but there isn't a PPC in sight to issue invoices.0

I've loosely added this to a few posts on there to get the poster to check, always worth a post. Don't know how long the post will stay there though.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0 -
Quite a number of threads / posts have been removed this morning - it seems they only want to see desperate chocoholics pleading for free chocolate posting now !0

I wonder if it's a tactical ploy to dangle a bit of chocolate for punters to beg for in order to shunt the PE posts further and further down the page?
Mind you, every cloud has a silver lining as it's also shoved the 'Look what I dished up on a plate at the weekend' photos into oblivion.
With or without the PE infestation, those pics alone would steer me well clear of any Aldi car park. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
