I notice that they admit it occurred but no sign of "Sorry, it won't happen again" at all.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

If they do make a film about this, I wonder if it will be on sale in Aldi stores? What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

My girlfriend just got a £70 fine in Walton-on-Thames Aldi for being 15 minutes over the 90 minutes allowed time. We shop there weekly and on this occasion spent over £160 and so it took as long as it took (she also had hurt her foot at the gym so took longer than normal).
Cannot believe she was sent this. What a way to treat a regular customer.
I've appealed through their online form.
Doubt we'll bother shopping with them again after this.early retirement wannabe0 -

Have you complained on their FaceBook page? They're having an absolute PR disaster on it.Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Another dissatisfied customer:-
Not having fun with Aldi customer services. Absolute refusal from them to help out with parking issue. Said it was impossible to speak to a manager!
Invoice was generated by Parking Eye for a 12 minute overstay in Fareham Aldi car park.
Queue at the store checkout meant that we were late exiting the car park and now faced with this ridiculous invoice of £70.
Have Aldi receipt to show times but Aldi refuse to help.
Many thanks!!!
It appears that the woman he spoke to was Rachel Organ, or "Fräulein Flick" as she is known on hereWhat part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -
Tough luck Aldi !!!!! This application also included a request to reduce free parking from 2 hours to 90 minutes.
And to think the Aldi apologists on Aldi's Facebook Page slammed me for objecting to it ! I hope my objection pointing out what type of company Aldi really is and what a bunch of criminals Parking Eye are helped :rotfl:

Set a timer on your phone, allow 5 minutes to enter and 5 minutes to leave, fill the trolley to bursting and when the parking timer goes off, leave the trolley in the middle of the isle with a nice note hand written on top, sorry, ran out of parking time shopping , have to go, can not afford the parking ticket.Be happy...;)0

So, Aldi wanted the store to open longer but wanted its customers to spend less time in the car park.
Aldi do like helping Parking Eye make a profit don't they ?0 -
've had the displeasure of speaking to Rachel from 'Aldi customer services'(I won't put the full name, but she seems to be very well know).
My wife parked in fareham Aldi, spent a long time in there shopping, and occidentally overstayed by 12 minutes. She has the receipt showing till time.
I phoned Aldi customer service upon receiving the first ParkingEye invoice and I was told that if we could produce a receipt, the invoice would be cancelled, and that this needed to be done via ParkingEye
So we sent out our letter, with explanation of busy tills at Aldi, with our copy of the receipt etc...
All that we got back was another invoice saying our appeal time was up and that we had to pay £70.
We then wrote to Aldi customer services explaining everything again, with copies etc... Today I received the disappointing call from Rachel. She informed me that Parking had never received my appeal letter and that she would forward it onto them. OK, great. She then added that it was down to Parking Eye to review and cancel if it's appropriate. I queried this as my previous phone conversation seemed to indicate that it would be Aldi cancelling invoices, after seeing receipts etc... This is when I asked to speak to a manager and was told this was not possible, twice, with no further explanation.
So at the moment, we are facing an invoice for £70 for a whole 12 minutes extra, which seems overkill.
I am so far very disappointed with my interactions with Aldi, contradictory information etc...
It seems I'm not the only one. There are messages all over Facebook & MSE forums. I was advised to log my findings here0
