    ALERT

Please be aware that there is currently an email circulating claiming to be sent from Aldi UK, asking customers to complete a short survey and share their bank details to receive a £120 - £150 incentive. This has not come from Aldi Stores – we have not and will never request customer’s bank details when asking for feedback. If you do receive this email, we strongly recommend that you delete it without opening it and do not share any of your personal details. If you have already shared your bank details, we recommend that you contact Action Fraud on 0300 123 2040 to report this.

We are currently liaising with the police regarding this matter. Thank you

However if you are scammed in our car parks by parking eye we don't give a toss!

    1st reply to #2026 enquiry:

'I refer to your email received in the planning services folder on the 8th April 2014. In your email you have provided a link to the planning committee report for the Aldi store in Ely. I can confirm that planning permission was granted for 85 car parking spaces and 26 cycle spaces to serve the retail food store. It is likely that this figure has been misquoted (albeit marginally) by one space in the article to which you have read. In terms of the maximum hours allowed for parking you will see that condition 24 of the planning permission (see below) required a car parking management plan to be submitted prior to the occupation of the store. This condition initially set the maximum parking limit at 3 hours, however it also allowed a review after 6 and 12 months of opening, therefore the parking hours limit was subject to change over that time period. I understand that this parking restriction has now been altered at the site. In terms of the enforcement of this parking restriction, I cannot offer any further comment on this particular matter.

24 Prior to the first occupation of the store hereby approved, a car park management scheme, which shall include details of the operation of the car park to serve the development shall be submitted to and agreed in writing with the Local Planning Authority. Specifically the submitted scheme shall include details of provisions to ensure that the car park will be made available for a period of 3 hours to members of the public without cost, in addition to allowing a period of review after 6 and 12 months, beginning with the first occupation of either store. Thereafter the development shall be operated in accordance with the agreed car park management scheme, unless otherwise agreed in writing with the Local Planning Authority.

24 REASON: To ensure the car park arrangements reflect the existing car park strategy throughout Ely.

This is little more than cut/paste. I've asked kindly for 6 and 12 mth Review details which must, ipso facto, show when/how/why original terms changed.
    No surprises anticipated:-)

ALDI, Do Parking Eye pay you £1000 a week too? Not a bad sum of money, £1000 for each car park they victimise your customers in.

If they don't, they are seriously missing out, and PE have conned Aldi, as well as their customers, not only costing Aldi income, but delivering them some real 'bad press'.

However, if they do receive this then they are lying in saying they receive no income from the parking charges from PE.

It's one or the other. I can't see any other way!

It would certainly explain why ALDI are not as willing to help customers get these charges cancelled.

Sorry, not 'FB literate' but taking some (self) credit in kicking things off on here re Aldi/PE.

Hopefully teaching PE not to mess with one of my own :rotfl:
