Aldi Facebook Page Kicking Off after Parking Eye LBAs

In addition, the use of just entry/exit cameras means that the car parks are not "managed" at all. The misuse of disabled bays go unnoticed and it's very easy for people to just park there and walk off site. Then you have the stupid "no return in x hours" rule. What if two people use the same car within that time, or you forget something and what to return to the store.
It's all very well saying that genuine shoppers will have their ticket cancelled, but why should they have to go through all that malarkey?
The main reason that ALDI have this problem is that they build their stores on small parcels of land which the other supermarkets won't touch. So they end up with a car park which is too small and stock rooms which are inadequate. Hence all the pallets of stuff on the sales floor. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -
If you want more proof, how about this from the Aldi FB page:-
Lots of good deals at Burntwood branch, BUT all of that is worthless if your going to fine customers for parking. I shopped at Aldi last week and spent 1 hour and 55 mins shopping, and talking to friends I had met, I was also in a lot of pain as i have a back ache and i was shopping with my young daughters who love to look around. This time was spent in your store and you fine me for it !!!!!!What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -
genuinely the reason for using Parking Eye is to try and keep free spaces for customers.
How does a system that only monitors entry/exits of cars ensure that spaces are available to customers? The whole car park could be full of people that have gone elsewhere but leave within the free period.
Any genuine customers are not charged oh yes they are
letters from Parking eye are cancelled when proof of shopping can be given. Not all of them aren't
tests have shown the average customer is in for under 30 minutes.
What tests? Who conducted them and where?
The ladies who deal with customer queries face vitriolic abuse from people
Sometimes the tone and manner used with genuinely upset people causes escalation - ever heard the phrase - you get back what you give out.
in the future this type of car parking will become more common
That may be so for a time because there's plenty of others who just can't wait to get in on the feeding frenzy - but the bubble will burst and the retailers who will win out are your large out of town competitors who don't need/wish to jump on this band wagon.0 -

Hi all,
I know I face a reaction when I post this, but I work at Aldi and genuinely the reason for using Parking Eye is to try and keep free spaces for customers. The stores are much busier than they used to be and trying to ensure the car park is kept for customers is the aim.
Any genuine customers are not charged, letters from Parking eye are cancelled when proof of shopping can be given. All car parks are a minimum of 90 minutes (one or two town centre might be an hour) this is a lot of time for shopping in Aldi, tests have shown the average customer is in for under 30 minutes. The ladies who deal with customer queries face vitriolic abuse from people, that is not right, they are doing their job to help genuine customers and have no interest in causing distress to customers. Parking Eye have been acquired by Capita, a big services company and in the future this type of car parking will become more common. If you're a genuine shopper Aldi don't want you to have any issue, contact the customer services department and they will do their best to resolve.
Now tell us where customers are told about this genuine customer exemption, in the signage then?! WHERE ARE THEY TOLD THIS?
How does a little old lady with no internet access, or a vulnerable idiot with a few sandwiches short of a picnic in their TOWIE-filled head, find out that they have to complain to get this reversed? What about if they dared to pay cash and didn't keep the receipt (as most people don't when they've merely bought food)?
Finally why do you think any customer should be subjected to receive an official-looking scary letter impersonating a parking ticket, then have to take time out of their day to get this drivel cancelled in order to avoid being SUED?! Many people get scared and pay, as an Aldi staff member you really have swallowed the company line on this haven't you. Why not think for yourself - this cannot be right, can it?! What ARE you thinking in supporting this extortion?
What next - are you going to issue tickets to people for not packing their own bags quickly enough or parking their trolley badly in store while rummaging for bargains?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Perhaps Aldi will start selling crystal balls .What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

From the ones I've seen, ParkingEye signs and paperwork relating to Aldi car parks don't mention ALDI at all .....
They don't state who they have been engaged by to "traffic space manage" (whatever that's supposed to mean - correct me if I'm wrong, it's a long time since I went to school, but doesn't traffic mean vehicles that are moving !!!)
and they only contain cryptic references to "the store".
Also I don't think ALDI should start selling crystal balls - they're trying to sell enough balls already0 -
oh , but there "balls" are made in china , but still using there brand name0
