Aldi's reply to someone complaining about "abuse" of Disabled spaces,Aldi UK Hi Merv, thank you for contacting us. We are sorry to hear about your experience. Mother and baby and disabled parking bays are provided for the convenience of users who require additional space. The Parking Eye cameras are not able to detect the misuse of spaces. If a member of the public reports the issue to the Store Manager, he / she can, at their discretion, choose to contact Aldi’s Parking Management Department to issue a charge to a motorist misusing the spaces. We hope this helps. Thanks again, Aldi UK Facebook Team0

Wow....
Just wow!0 -
Hmmm how does that work then? So the person filling out the form has no images, doesn't witness the parking, and doesn't know themselves whether this is happening. This is open to abuse! When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

I would imagine that the manager must actually witness the 'abuse' (e.g actually go out to car park and see). Problem with this is that there is no real way of challenging the evidence and the PCN (other than the usual GPEOL, signage etc) until the matter goes to court. Also, does a store manager really want the hassle of going to court and essentially 'fighting' their customer. If the store manager doesn't witness the actual breach then he would have to ensure that he gets all of the contact details of the witness and inform them that they may have to go to court. This is surely a cost saving exercise so that the PPC's/Aldi don't have to pay for staff to actually 'patrol' the car park. The manager/witness would also have to be completely sure that the 'offender' has no disability (mental or physical) and just not in receipt of (or simply not displaying) a blue badge.0

Anyone know the lovely Rachel's registration plate. I'm sure I'll see it in a disabled spot if I try hard enough.
Also what is Aldi’s Parking Management Department. If that's the case how come customer services are best placed to deal with tickets.0 -
the parking dept , is the two girls that work from an aldi desk at chorley

"Mother and baby and disabled parking bays are provided for the convenience of users who require additional space."
Not quite correct "Aldi". In the case of disabled bays they are not just a "convenience" but a requirement in law. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -
