Good Afternoon All
icecubequeen - very much so! - myself & dlb are BB fanatics. I keep saying every yr, that it will be the last! But it's something that once your'e hooked, you gotta keep watching. I think they ought to do a BB series of all the house winners from previous series, and choose one winner over all, and call it quits. Then at least I might be able to have a life every summer! :rotfl:
Bargain Rzl - I was down your way at the wk end, sorry I didnt have any spare time to visit. It was touch and go whether I was going or not! Hope to plan another visit this yr!
dannahaz - sound like you've been busy with the housework. I wish I can find the energy to do that amount! Between me & OH we get lots done, but Im not motivated enough to do it on my own!
Scuzz - (((big hugs)))
PenPen - that would be interesting an OS BB contestant!
Had a busy day at work, but after this morning welcome back greeting from my manager, I got the feeling I was talked about yesterday in my absence! Tough !!!!!!, Im afraid my kids come first over work & anything else for that matter. She's in the early stages of her 1st pregnancy, so oneday I hope she feels the same pressure as us mums feel every day ref childcare etc. Her attitude is, hubby can stay at home and bring up the "sprog" and she'll happily go to work!
Off to raid the fridge/freezer now and see what can be rustled up for dinner! We had a "grill up" last night.
Bye for now

Afternoon gang, hope everyone is having a decent day. Well feel ok today.am sleeping so much berrte since I started using the lavender.DH is also sleeping far better as well so thanks for the tip. Did loads of hand washing(I SO MISS my WM) funny though I thought my DH was human (well sometimes anyway:rotfl: !!) and having checked he seems to only have 2 feet WHY THEN DOES HE SEEM TO HAVE AT LEAST 3 MILLION PAIRS OF SOCKS????? I think his alter ego is millipede man-half human(??) half (the bottom half) millipede. The rest of the day has been taken up with going back and forth to the local tip. We had some trees cut down a bit ago and we are still trying to get rid of all the stuff. The green bin is always stuffed but barely makes a dent in it. We got 6 of those large builders bags(like giant shopping bags) from frecycle and they are fantastic. 3 trips today each time with 2 bags in DH says it iwll be clear for late Aug:eek:
Did a huge message edit and lost it!!!!!!!!!!!! Will do it shortly. Hugs to all for now AXXXBlind as you run...aware you were staring at the sun.

Queenie - Great news on the car!!
Hugs to the rest in need.
I'm another BB fan, DH is too - we hardly ever turn the tv on but will quite happily watch BB each evening. We've even planned a late supper and nice bottle of wine to enjoy whilst watching
Waited in all day for a freecycler to collect a bed, they were going to phone by lunch time but haven't - really quite annoyed as I've stripped the furniture out the room ready for the bed to be dismantled....grrrrrr:mad: I've now offered to the next person on my list.
DD's have painted some canvases for their rooms today - base colour only so far but plan to do something creative with circles and glitter on Friday.
Dinner for DD's tonight is toastie pizzas - toast with tom sauce, pepperoni and cheese on - they've just come out from under the grill and smell yummy - they've piled heaps of salad on their plates too - it's lovely having kids that love fresh fruit and veg but costs a small fortune to supply.
Hope you all have a great evening."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -

Hi Annie, thank you for asking.
Well, the ceiling fan saga continues. The blades are a much less scary washed oak cololur now. We took Wash into the room to show him, he wasn't impressed but he walked out rather than ran out.
Over the next few days, we made progress of sorts. I took him to the door of the room in my arms, and he was fine. I let him get down, and he sat in the doorway staaaarrring at the fan, then he walked off. Another day, he came and looked in of his own accord, but walked off again. Yesterday, I got him in the room and brushed him, he spent the whole time watching the fan, but he didn't run away. when he decided to leave, I let him. Today, he looked in and watched it for a while. He's now sleeping om the upstairs landing instead of on the downstairs sofa. Just now, he was outside so I went and got him, made him walk upstairs, then scooped him up and took him in the room, put him on the bed, and stroked him. He got off the bed fairly quickly, but then sat on the floor of the bedroom for about 5 mins, watching the fan. Then he left. I went after him and got him to come and sit in the lobby area in front of the bedroom while I brushed him.
So, progress. But veeeeeerrrrrrry slllllllloooooooooow.

This has happened to me too drives me potty, if people want the stuff they should be prepared to collect it, otherwise send an email to say they changed their mind.
Oh has just consumed roast beef, carrots cauli, new spuds with red wine gravy and lemon meringue pie, so not much up with his appetite, he has been up for most of the day, and made 2 cups of tea, so we are slowly getting back to normal. Tomorrow I have to go to the bank and pay in 2 cheques, so he is going to have to be on his own for an hour or so.
Tesco delivered my order fine, just one substitute and who ever picked the meat and veg must have been a woman, the quaility is very good, someone took care with the order.
I have washed the supper pots but not dried them yet....am feeling a bit sleepy so might have a nap whilst OH is watching TV.Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -
Evening everyone.
Scuzz huge hugs to you ((((((((((((())))))))))
Well sorry guys, another BB addict here, i cant wait, i must admit dont watch it every second, but i have crazychik next door to fill me in on anything i miss !LOL.
I have been so busy today, cleaned the oven which then lead to me cleaning the bathroom, as i soak the oven shelves in the bath with wash powder. Did some ironing, well one basket out of 3 overflowing ones, so decided to look what was in the other 2 baskets and have taken loads to the charity clothes bin, resulting in only 1 basket of ironing left to do!!:D
Dh said thats me all over, get the ironing done quickly, throw it away!!:rotfl:
Have cleaned up the pc, which then resulted in my internet connection going off for 3 hours, opps must have deleted something i shouldnt have, but a system restore sorted it out. Watched high school musical today for first time, really enjoyed it, ds2 (9yrs) loves it has been going on about it for ages as they watched it at school once. Its a really `nice` film.
Now having 5 minutes on here before settling down for a evening of BB.
Have a good evening all

Had a change of plan today, we have an independent cinema in a local village and its shutting tomorrow till next week so today we went to see Bridge to Terebithia (sp). It was a really lovely film. Therefore only did a little housework and ironing. Just about to do some urgent paperwork now.
Also didnt get round to any baking - oh well there's always tomorrow.
Enjoy BB tonight, I only flick onto it everynow and then, I actually prefer it a couple of weeks in. Anyway best go and do some invoices.0 -
Evening
Here is the potato onion & bacon hotpot recipe, it comes from the Jocasta Innes Paupers Cook Book I think, but I've been making it for over 25 years so make it from memory now.
I make it in my SC
I use half a packet of Bacon misshapes, enough potato to serve 2, not peeled, but cut into wedges & 1 small or half a large onion, thinley sliced.
I chuck it all into my slowcooker along with approx 1 pt of runny white sauce, make sure the potao wedges are all covered otherwise they will go black. I put then in the SC at 8 this morning & we ate at 5:30 it was very tasty.
