cat - as long as the date would still have be within it's use-by from when you froze it, it should be ok. Use the "Senses" tests: sight, smell, taster and common ;) As for the lavender, could you substitute that idea for a "Hop Pillow" if you don't like the smell of lavender?

Thank you for all the birthday wishes for my son - that was very sweet of you and much appreciated :T Forgot to mention earlier, located a clip on You Tube of that wonderfully funny Harry Enfield sketch where "Kevin" turns 13 ... played it for ds when he woke up yesterday ... it was a real hoot!!

For anyone who hasn't seen it or would like to see it again:- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dDL1l8h-okk ;)

    Morning everyone

Dry here today, it was terrible yesterday, one minute it was dry and the next it was bouncing off the roads.

Amie, sorry to hear about your tomatoes, I've got mine in the greenhouse and dragged DH out last night to see my first little tomatoes - they are only tiny, but I got so excited :rotfl:

Work today, so beef casserole in the slow cooker - it was supposed to be chicken casserole yesterday, but I didn't have a casserole mix, so changed to chicken supreme, then found I didn't have any rice

Anyway, off to walk the dog now, have a good day everyone x

    Good morning all!

Well, the weather is quite nice here at the moment - but the emphasis is on the "at the moment", as the sky seems to be getting increasingly darker in the direction which usually sends the weather, so I am not holding out any hope of getting washing dried outside.

tinkerbelluk - hope all goes well for you now you have made the decision.
Queenie - well done with the exams - it's always nice to have the certificates in your hand to prove you can do it, isn't it?!
Catowen - thanks for your hints to Amie about POTC3 - I will let DH & DS know, as they are off to see it this evening (giving me a couple of hours by myself!)

I really value by-myself-time, as it is quite rare. We have home educated now for 10 years, with both boys for the first 5, then as DS1 went off to college then work another 5 years with DS2. I am now almost at the end of the job as DS2 is 16, so either a matter of weeks/months left or certainly no more than 2 years!

Anyway, :hello: to everyone, whether I have mentioned you by name or not - doesn't mean I am ignoring you if I haven't!

    Have a good day!

    Hi everyone.

Rain here at the moment, which is a shame, because I really need a walk, as I haven't done much outside excercise much the last few days because of the weather being so yuk. I fancied having a walk along what used to be a canal, near to my home with some of the children. Couldn't do it yesterday, because they went off on their own walk. Not to worry. May be it will clear up later :-)

I didn't seem to do a lot yesterday except "fiddle about" doing little odd things that don't really make much impression on a day. Shall have to make some cakes today though, because they've eaten them all, except a bit of cherry cake, that looks like it's headed to be part of a custard pudding I make with cake that's been about for a little to long, but not long enough to be thrown out. Shall see what's left of it tonight.

DS aged 21, who is moving back home, after 6 mths of renting rooms in a house, came in last night to start decorating, his and his brothers room. He and his dad removed an old gas air box thing that was in his room, and proceeded to make a hole in the adjoining bedroom wall, that is their sisters room!!!!!! Also, what seemed like an easypeasy job, turned out very frustrating, because, when the room was last decorated, when the boys were younger, a border was put up around the room, because it wouldn't stay glued, DH glued it on with super glue, now they can't get the border off. DS very frustrated lol. Any suggestions??????

Oh well. That's me for today.

May your day be blessed and prosperous.

    Hugs all round.

The diesel :D:D:D Thank you so much for your advice :T Actually, I was just posting about it in the PMS thread. Seems I've got myself a 'B' Band "green" car ... which means, I'll only be paying £35 per year in road tax!!! :T Another 'bonus' I hadn't known about until this morning, from next year when the London Congestion Charge regime is changed, mine will be exempt :T

Links if anyone is interested in this info:

Road Tax and London CC info and also Banding info

Lads have asked if I'll run them school all of next week so their mates get a chance to see them in our 'new' car :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I'm so so proud of the savings I made which made buying it possible, but I'm also dead chuffed that I've got a great little car which the more I know about her, the more I love her :D (I'm high on excitement, can you tell? )

    Morning everyone :hello:

Raining here at the moment, tomato plants have taken a bit of a battering, so hoping they will survive this weather, still have some on window sills which haven't been planted out yet, so will have to see what happens.

House needs a thorough clean but not much time this week as im at w**k all week, think Sunday will be a day of cleaning and cooking for the freezer.

OS wise today WM on and beds to change later, then off to do weekly shop. Trying to save this month as off on holiday at the end of next month

    have a good day everyone

    Morning all

Congrats Queenie:T - good to hear you so up beat. You seem to be having a great week. Care to pass some of the luck over this way? I'm so glad when things go right for people who deserve them (or seem to, I'm always conscious that behind your screen you could be a mad axe murderer, or similar:D ;) )

Doctors appointment this morning - I'm about 5 weeks "late" and I've done 3 pregnancy tests, all of which came back negative (as well as costing a fortune) I'm not really clear what could be going on. Don't know if I'm a bit sharp going to the docs, maybe I should have waited longer. Dunno, suppose she can always send me away. But I hate wasting the docs time. Feel there is always someone who needs them more than I do. Ho hum.

Also - interview this afternoon. Got to get through a whole day of work before I get called. Wish me luck, I need it.

Raining here again. I am fed up with the weather, it is June on friday isn't it? Not February - Queenie, have you been messing with the thread dates again?:D
