You really don't need to wash every item after one wear!!
Underwear yes after one wear and t-shirts/shirts if hot but things like jeans definitely not.
There are two of us and I guess the washing machine is on about every other day or about four times a week.
This is what I do too, bedding and towels washed once/twice a week (weather dependant) as well.Good enough is good enough, and I am more than good enough!:j
If all else fails, remember, keep calm and hug a spaniel!0 -
Well, tonight has been a revelation. we automatically put all of our clothes in the wash bin at night, same with Jim jams in the morning. I'm sure I've grown up doing this....
Okay, a new Mse goal is born, I'm going to aim to wear some things twice before washing:D0 -

I should have added, we're also a family of four. No disabilities but I do have a teenage son who plays rugby three days a week and goes to the gym the other four days. Lots of sports gear! Even with that I do about six or at most seven loads of washing per week, plus two extra loads of sheets and towels. So that's 8/9 loads to your 14/21 loads. Quite a difference, even if you're washing extra sheets for your child.Val.0 -
I wash some things after one day - pants, socks, tights, tops and T-shirts if it's hot.
I don't wash outer garments so often, things such as jeans, jumpers, fleeces, dresses don't need washing after every wear, unless it's really sweaty weather.
My son's clothes always end up filthy every day, though!...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
3 of us in the house, 2 adults, one child. OH works manual job. I work at a desk.
I do approx 3 loads of clothes & one of towels a week. Bedding is stripped every 2nd week so average about 4 loads a week. Whites, colours, darks & towels.
Jean have 4-5 wears if not a sweaty day & they are mark free.
Underwear, socks, vests, change daily. My bras 4-5 wears.
Pj's or nighties can be worn 4 times as long as not sweaty at night.
My sons school uniform, the whole thing, shirt, shorts, tie, jumper, gets worn 2-3 days before washed as long as no stains or food spillages., his socks, vest & pants changed daily.
OH's work Tshirts are washed after every wear but his trousers get 2 wears. My work trousers & blouses get 2 wears as I sit at a desk all day & as long as they are hung up as soon as I get home & aired, they are fine.
We use one towel for 3-4 days at a time, if you hang & dry your towel properly it is still fresh enough for several uses. A new towel a day is a waste of energy. We each have our own towels that no one else uses so you know only your body has been dried with it.
One thing we do all do is wear "comfies" around the house, light tracksuit bottoms & vest top for me, shorts & vest for oh & son.
Outdoor clothes are worn outdoors. We always change once we are indoors.I don't respond to stupid so that's why I am ignoring you.

Wash enough clothes to last a good few weeks, then hide glitter in the drum/drawer? By the time you get round to needing to do yours again, it should be gone
ETA: pick very fine glitter.. the kind of stuff that coats everything if you so much as look at it..0 -
I do 3 loads a week for myself and son, a 30 minute quick wash at 30 degrees. 1 lights, 1darks and one towels and bedding. My machine is only a 5 kg load capacity.
My lodger does 2 loads on Saturday which includes his bedding, also at 30 degrees.Life is not the way it’s supposed to be. It’s the way it is. The way you cope with it is what makes the difference.0 -

Does he have a brother ? my housemate is very similar
He also used my jam tart tin the other day filled with oil/grease and hasn't washed it for 4/5 days
not only that he smokes cannabis and leaves his washing in the bathroom drying out for days on end. Grrr.

You wash your pjs every day?
Don't you get sick of washing and ironing if youre washing your clothes after every wash?
I probably wash my pjs every few days. Granted I'm not a sweaty person but Ive often had a shower just before I go to bed so its not like they're going to get dirty?
Im starting to think this is how global warming started :rotfl: I used to live with a guy at uni who used to wash his towels after one use! I mean you've just come out the shower so why would a towel get dirty so fast?
I wash most clothes after wearing them a couple of times, apart from jeans which get washed a lot less. The only thing that gets washed after one use is underwear and socks.0
