  • Well, it's official, I'm getting old!

About 10.15, OH popped his head into the study and asked if I fancied popping into town for a quick drink. I shoved a cardi over my work top, donned my flat, sensible shoes, drove into town and picked up a bottle of wine from the shop and then called in at the local pub.

Town was HEAVING with scantily-clad young girls with the shortest of skirts, the skimpiest of tops and the highest of shoe-boots. The lads were in ripped t-shirts showing off even more ripped bodies and the Police were out in force. I couldn't wait to get home!

Where did my party animal persona go? I used to be a bit on the "wild" side, sensible but very much "hey, look at me, aren't I just the funkiest thing you ever did see?" kinda girl. My George cardi and Clarks shoes were just not cutting it tonight. And I was kinda glad :D

Right, off to check out some rattan furniture for my new patio :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    Morning!

GI, if they can't say, it most likely is a reference / financial or other check issue rather than interview performance :( either way, I hope he can get something soon.

Kiddies are having a picnic brekki under DS bed. I'm not allowed it apparently :D

So I'm just in bed watching the news. DS has just come in and said "mummy I love you thirty-two" :D. Have you seen the smog over Indonesia? Was texting my brother - he's in Singapore and he said its awful, he's never seen anything like it. It's now topped 400 on the pollution standards index. Indonesia says its unfair to blame it all on the forest fires :o Its almost the school holidays, so hopefully they will close early so my niece can stay home...
I think my brother can work from home but not sure about my sis in law

    Morning all

    We have rain here :(

Never the less WM is on
    Breakfast decluttered

Have listed a item on freecycle, it's had a lot of interest. The 1st person messed me around on the time they were coming so I emailed the next person and said it was still available could they come and collect it on Thursday (this was on Tues). I received a rude reply on Thurs as I hadn't put my address (I don't let them know my address until they confirm they can collect the item) so I replied and said there was no need to be rude and explained why I hadn't given them my address on the original email. I now appear to have been registered on 'hook up' websites using the email address I use for freecycle. Of course I don't know for sure if it is them that have registered me but it seems a strange coincidence. Sorry for the rant but I've found it a bit upsetting. Which is silly I know and I have blocked the websites but I don't know how many more sites they are going to register me on or what spam I'm now going to be sent.

Onwards and upwards for today. I'm going to buy a bistro table set for the garden and a new blind for the sun room.

    Have a lovely day all

Deco - I would contact the admin team for your Freecycle and tell them you're concerned that, immediately after you have received rude emails (forward said email) you have started being spammed. You are not accusing this freecycler directly, of course, you just want them to be aware 'in case it happens to anyone else' - you never know - you may not be the first and this could well get them banned if so;)

started raining - have brought in washing - by the time I had finished it had stopped. Been to PO and paid papers; having a :coffee: then I must formulate a plan of attack. House is a pit.

  • Wm x 1 just about finished - 3 to go

Cleaned the hob, worktops, fridge. Going to put the washing out under the trees so the rain can't get at it (hopefully) and set the WM off again. Will do the drawer and filter before WM x 2.

Going for another HH if anyone wants some company? In mine, I will grab a wet cloth and wipe down some paintwork in the kitchen, clean the kitchen window and door pane and peg the washing out.

    Afternoon all

A very showery day here today so the washing is on the maiden. I've made a start on buying DS3's uniform and DH is striping chip paper in DS1's room - only above the picture rails so not too bad, he has DS3's to do tomorrow but that room is smaller.

Going to put another wash on and then star on the paperwork covering the table, I may designate next week just to dailies and paperwork whilst the builders are in.
