Slightly modded one

This one needs TLC and heater matrix

Finally a stunner from a dealer

No ideal what the last one sold for, but it would've been less than £1000.
So I can't see you getting that from the insurance company, as they may have access to auction prices for examples too.
At least you could send them the last one and cross your fingers for a better offer.0 -
If the value can be substantiated contact the third parties insurer and substantiate it.Retrogamer wrote: »
I don't expect i'll receive the full £1500, but £400 is laughable. I would say between £900 - £1100 range seems reasonable to me since the value can be substantiated.0 -

It came with a grey cloth interior, grey dashboard, grey plastics, carpets ect.
The later CDX came with a black interior, black dashboards, carpet, pearlescent paintwork.
In 1997 all Corsa's hada minor faceliftso
The modifications on the car have been added at a cost to me of approx £500
Full custom made stainless steel exhaust with a lifetime gaurantee
Lowering springs and uprated dampers
Aftermarket front and rear lights and side repeaters.
Aftermarket grlll
If i factor in repairs, servicing and restoration work (the latter part is the expensive part) then i have receipts that show approx £600 has been spent on the car in the 6 months alone.

With a car that old, the actual model makes very little difference at all to the price. As for modifications, they don't change the price much either, and can actually lower the price if it looks like a boy racer car.
I've been car hunting for my daughter for some time now, and you would be very lucky to get more than £1000 for a 1999 corsa in immaculate condition.0 -

Yes any regular run of the mill Corsa B will struggle to be worth £1000.
A CDX is a rare model however. It was the top model with options like heater leather seats. The 1.5TD engine is the best engine for that year as well. Both are difficult to come by at a reasonable price, let alone finding a 1.5TD CDX in good condition. A 1.5TD CDX cost more new if i remember than a low spec Astra, so most people didn't spend that money on a high spec Corsa when my model was still being manufactured. All your base are belong to us.0 -

You have completely ignored the first part of my post:Jamie_Carter wrote: »With a car that old, the actual model makes very little difference at all to the price. As for modifications, they don't change the price much either, and can actually lower the price if it looks like a boy racer car.0 -

The part which says the model and engine don't affect the value?
Yes i read it, and i disagree with it.All your base are belong to us.0 -
Ok, latest development.
Been offered a hire car. The problem is with my work comitments (10.5 hours a day and 3 hours travel a day) they can't arrange a time for me to collect the car unless it's a day off.
The other problem is the hire company is 2 hours travel time on public transport to get to the hire company as well. This is no use to me at all

Explain this and ask them to arrange delivery to you or failing that for you to use a local company.0
-
Just get them to deliver to your place of work, the amount they charge they should be able to do this.0

You may not like to accept that your car isn't worth as much as you hoped, but I'm afraid that's a fact. I've bought enough cars over the years to know this.
An example is the Mondeo that I bought a few years ago. It was the 2.5 V6 Ghia X model. And was exactly the same price as a basic 1600 model.
From what you have said your car looks like a boy racer car, and this can actually lower the value.0
