In my world, I'll check the date on anything needing to go in the fridge, but even this isn't a foolproof system, and is prone to errors, especially if I'm in a hurry.

I bought a 4 pint of milk for home on Wednesday that I didn't realise the date was that on the bottle. It's in the fridge, and I've had it with a coffee this morning, and also fed it to my DD's. It's fine.

A 'use by' date is not the date that it needs to be used by.

I think it must be me!

I check the date of everything I buy, even tinned stuff as I tend to buy when items are BOGOF and store them in my garage.

Maybe I should get out more. :rotfl:

I agree with the 'not taking too much notice of sell-by/use-by dates'.
My nose tells me if something is OK to eat/drink.

I've racked up over 90 working hours last week, ran DD1 to Acton this morning and did Tescos/bought 2 new cabinets in Ikea on the way back.

I know it's a case of everyone doing things differently, but occasionally, I don't have time :)

Fair enough, the first few people say what needs to be said but when two days later your are still getting posts poking fun at the OP you have to wonder what is lacking in people's lives that they feel the need to do that.

Is that any different to taking to an internet forum complaining about...

    1) A use by date you didn't check.

    2) Then even having the cheek to complain that it should have automatically been reduced.

    3) And then question whether or not it's legal!!

You can't say this isn't about being perfect. This is just about complaining about any slightest thing & then automatically expecting to be compensated, and assuming anything you don't like probably isn't legal!

The earlier post didn't really relate to this thread. In that I was bemoaning people who seem to expect everyone to always check every little thing, ignoring the fact that in the real world people do take shortcuts with people and companies that they believe they can trust.

In this thread I was simply agreeing with ThumbRemote about the rather unpleasant effect whereby, when someone makes a post with which there is general disagreement, an unnecessarily large number of people pile in, all pointlessly saying the same thing.

Still waiting for you to show me where I belittled and ridiculed OP?

Thanks to those that understand at least but you always get packs of wolves here whatever you post. You just have to filter out the clag.

Azari - its not like Hubb is not saying there own insults.

saying most of the comments are comparable with pooie bum hair.
Hubb could have taken moral high ground but choose not to.

Ah, the old 'two wrongs make a right' argument. The fact that a post is daft gives carte blanche to all and sundry to get stuck in.

I can't see that it makes any difference how stupid a poster is, it only needs one or two people to point that out.

Those who continue to have a go at the poster in question after the first few posts are akin to the sort of people who will wait to make sure which way the mob is leaning and then join in enthusiastically.

It's quiet funny your opinion of when people like to say what they think on forums and how you think we really shouldn't have posted.

Yet you never seem to be able to hold back yourself!!

That's actually a completely vacuous observation.

Unless you really can't understand the difference between ganging up on someone and complaining about ganging up on someone. ;)
