if ive forgotten to say HI to any other newbies....
id like to have a good excuse but i havent got one.... :rotfl:0 -
I don't believe it! My application to join my local Freecycle has been rejected!!
I originally joined a few years ago, but set it to "web-only" (no emails) a couple of years back when I had nothing to give away and didn't want masses of emails. I now have STUFF. So I tried to get into the local group, only to find that it's now a closed group and I need to rejoin - I guess they did a sweep of inactive accounts or something. So I reapplied, and got a message asking for my postcode and area and what were the reasons I wanted to join (???). I replied.
3 days later - today - I have received an email from the list moderator stating my application had been rejected! It was a copy/paste job, but none of the reasons why I *might* have been refused apply to me! !!!!!!??!
So I have reapplied AGAIN and asked for reconsideration. How hard is it to give away an armchair, some wood, some old seeds and a temperamental TV, for flips sake?0 -

I know absolutely nothing about Freecycle (but then I don't use Ebay or any other online buy/sell site :shhh:).
If you still have no joy - sounds like they've gone into 'control freak'/ not allowed in our little clique mode - I found this which may give alternatives. Needless to say, I've no idea about any of them either :rotfl:0 -
Nice wall CTC.
Welcome aboard Phoebe.
Rainbow - refused membership by Freecycle....now that's summat worth boasting about. I thought being expelled from the brownies when I was 8 was pretty cool, but banned from Freecycle is just mega..............
I have cellulitis from a clegg bite & am dopey with meds. I've dragged myself about all day & even altered someone's curtains, but hardly felt a thing.

Their are some near me.. :rotfl:
Actually, might also be worth seeing what agricultural places you have out by the sea side. Or check the mole valley farmers website? See what they are selling.
I'll have a google and find one that sells all types.ukmaggie45 wrote: »But look at the title - Daydream thread...
If you have the dreams you're more than welcome!OH and I don't have a smallholding, or chooks or geese or pigs or goats or whatever (guess alpacas might fit in the whatever category! :rotfl: ), we live in a suburban house in Liverpool with a reasonable size garden and half a lottie that we only just got so it's a total mess at the mo. Garden is a mess too as we've been too busy digging the lottie to deal with the garden. <rolls eyes>
So please hang around and enjoy the fun and banter!

I have a Victorian end of terrace in Bexley borough, so I'm still a dreamer too! You're very welcome (and encouraged) to stay and chat, you already know a few of us from the sounds of it so you have no excuses. Please make yourself comfortable with a cuppa and biskwit. If you get the time, you can start at the beginning of this thread and catch up from earlier this year but if not you'll soon pick it up. We're a very friendly and supportive bunch!

I have grown a gigantic thistle in the front this year (purely by accident) but it's 8' tall now with loads of prongs of flowers.
I will load onto photo bucket and post up over the W/E. It's not a 'donkey/field' type of thistle but slightly more 'gourmet'.......can't think of the equivalent gardening word.
..and I am near you, lot of family are Eltham / New Eltham and we are Shooters hill.
Daydreams? Well we just did one and bought a house by the sea ....but it is uninhabitable and we need to save up for the renovation fund.0 -
I just walked into the living room to find my cat with her paw in my glass of milk, at least she had the good grace to look slightly abashed :rotfl::rotfl:
Choille I am intrigued to hear what you did to get expelled from the Brownies :rotfl:
r.a.i.n.b.o.w How odd to be turned down by them, I would email them again incase it was a mistake. We use our local freecycle groups a lot.
Our friends brought round their branch cutters last night so we can hopefully get the hedge sorted when the rain eases off. It was lovely as they stayed for a while and even helped to cut some of the hedge while they were chatting
The moneysaving had been going well here however due to a rapidly expanding waistline I had to invest in some maternity clothes so the counter has gone back down againGuess I will just need to work harder!
Better go as the guilty cat is now climbing over me trying to apologiseTaking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -

You're practically on the doorstep! :j Our garden is about 65 feet long by 15-22 feet (it varies) but we've kept chickens since the year after we moved in. This was a renovation project too, in 2004 when we bought at auction.
Speaking of auctions, and your house by the sea, was it you that bought the clifftop house in Torquay that has a few issues?"...And if it don't feel good, what are you doing it for?" - Robbie Williams - 'Candy'0 -
RHIWI...... THIS IS AN OFFICIAL WARNING.... stop selling things that i want to have ...

Choille, take care, those cleggs are nasty little b*****s!
Lir, all that metal!! Went to the scrap place yesterday and took in a bit of old copper and brass for a few quid. Previous guy had brought in a large pile of stripped copper cable, made me think metal theft straight away
