Beds finished constructing now! Need filling, painting, planting.

Too tired to take pictures, and.....I might even wait till they are painted , or maybe until early next summer, planted up and hope fully flourishing.

Gardener thinks I've gone too far for good taste, which makes me like them and think I've got it just right.

The words ' wedding cakes ' were mentioned. :). Well, I never had one of those, so, if this is it, good. ;)

Two kittens can wear each other out......

Yup. They're great company for each other, and anyway, we can't run 1/4 as fast....:rotfl:

We were just saying tonight how good ours are now. They go to bed when we do, sleep all night, sit placidly to have their collars put on in the morning and generally understand that if we say "No!" it's something they shouldn't do.

So, no climbing on the kitchen table, biting electric cables etc. :A

We are having a Green Deal Assessment in the morning. It seems we get this done now, then another EPC when the new system's in, before the RHI payments can start. It's all horribly bureaucratic. :(

In other news, the engineer's drawings & calcs will be no use in dealing with the building inspector, as they were based on a false premise and we aren't building to them. We have given him drawings now, showing what we propose.:rotfl: He has 24 hours to respond. He doesn't get paid till we receive something which will satisfy us and the inspector ......:p

We need to order the steel this week. Fed up being b*ggered about, especially as the weather's so good.

What else? Oh, next door's landlady wanted to get the local septic tank man to take a look at our 'problem,' but he wasn't available Friday, nor over the weekend, nor today, apparently.
Another case of doing stuff 'dreckly.' If we have any money left, we'll be going independent in this respect about a year from now.

And as if the above isn't enough, M&S didn't have my size and style of pants today....proof indeed that the world as we know it is nearly at an end! :rotfl:

Haven't caught up with all your news yet, but do hope everyone is doing fine.

Hope your mum is on the mend Alfie.

Feel so much better now. Took a while & had really hardly any energy, but seem to be getting there - wherever that is.

Had a coal tit whack into the caravan yesterday & had it perching on my finger for ages before it recovered & flew. Charming wee thing.

Totally gorgeous weather here for quite a while - so remember why we live here now. It's been pretty hot.

Sorry to hear of your Engineer's woes Dave - they are expensive. We use one to certify drawings - they just stamp OH's & charge about 800 quid. In the wrong job.

We are getting on very slowly as OH is not very mobile & the pain specialist seems to recommend tablets that cause alarming allergic reactions.

Had someone come & help with sheep stuff the other day & that was brilliant & effecient & so smooth. Which is spelt wrong, but you know what I mean.

Watched a weasel loup past with a small frog in it's mouth while having a cuppy the other day - the place is moving with life. Two wee fledling robins were in the caravan when I came back after leaving the door open, but got them out. They do seem to shoite a lot for such small things.

morning all........... i wonder how many people are lucky enough to live with wildlife on thier doorstep ....and never notice it ? i often encounter people in "des res's" and ask them what birds they get in thier gardens only to be met with a blank look... :( if i mention i have deer in the field they look almost excited as if im in the wilds of africa.... they dont realise if they looked over thier hedges they'd see them too. blinkered to the niceties of life ... its when i DONT see any wildlife id get worried ! anyway, im off to sussex now, gorgeous day :D everyone have a good'en :)

That's almost what CTC was saying t'other day, I think.

It's one of the main reasons why I do this smallholding stuff, because there's different wildlife outside the garden, even though the range of plants inside it is wider.

My only grump is that I don't get to see so many other more natural places, including the really wild ones, 'cos I'm too busy dealing with the nonsense here....:o

Today's nonsense isis out of the way, anyway. We've been Green Deal assessed. Box ticking exercise. ;)

    Now we're querying the architect's drawings....
