At last, a definitive floor plan of our re-furb, so you can get some idea of what we're aiming at:

    33x8mme.jpg

The plan is to end up with 3 decent bedrooms, a good living room, a kitchen/diner, a good utility and, unless the money runs out, a reasonable conservatory off the living room. The compromise is a piddly-sized office, but this will be supplemented by the 'man-cave,' otherwise known as 'boiler room & store,' where all my junk can go. :j

While we're replacing the kitchen roof, the BR&S will be our temporary kitchen. At present, we can still access it along the corridor. That corridor and all the other walls shown by dotted lines will be demolished and moved next year.

So far we have completely re-roofed the garage & BR&S, re-built the upper wall & changed windows in the BR&S + added a new secondhand sink & worktop. Current spend, just under £6k. :D

At present, the hallway is where part of Bedroom 3 will be, so we need to brick-up the front door soon. The new front door will be in what is now a tiddly bedroom, so we are currently building the foundations for the porch outside that, having moved the oil tank out of the way.....(and that bl**dy post I was moaning about this morning! :rotfl:)

It's like some weird game of chess!

This has been 3 years in the planning, and yes, it's not terribly impressive, but we can both live with and agree on it. :A

    morning all,

well it absolutely piddled down most of the night, heavy rain, but its blue skies and sun is shining now....

remember this that we had from a friend of ours? it was going to be used on the other side of the house, long story but the fireplace etc there is being blocked up... we were going to use this, But now I might have had someone looking down at me, when we found the lovely big open fireplace... so we are going to do some measuring to see if it will fit...

Also I need to find a picture of a very similar one.. to see what is missing... we have the bread oven for it, so will get it sandblasted, and re- black it, do anyone know what will be the best stuff to use??

    I used this:

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Stovax-Thermolac-Brush-Stove-Paint/dp/B0043SGQAS

Couldn't spray, due to fiddly bits and the stove being in situ. Thought the result would be poo, but it was fine! :D
