Alfie I would be living in the fridge if it hit 32 here lol.. I am melting as it is, very uncomfortable here with the humid heat... just watched the welsh news, and it looks as though we are in for another turbulent night/morning with rain and thunder/lightening storms...Work to live= not live to work0

We are a gentle 20-22 degrees but it was muggy earlier. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0
-
is it just me that gets pithed off with drivers that dont indicate at roundabouts ??0
-
Alfie, have you guys stuck anything vulnerable undercover tonight just in case?
The storms hit us last night......we had a hot or a power surge and tripped but couldn't find where ( loads of boxes thought I'd tried them all and it was more serious). Less embarrassingly it took our very good electrician a little while to trace it too, this evening, so were with out power all day!
At least I know where to check if the same happens again now0 -
im gonna have my camera ready tonight
but so far its very warm still [just put geese away ]..... my eagle owl has become uber friendly ??:T i think he/she thought i was gonna leave him behind when i moved and thought better buck up his/her attitude :rotfl::rotfl: did i say there was some moron in the fields around me late at night the last 2 wednesdays driving round with a flood/spot light that could land a jumbo jet ? NO? well i learnt it was the keeper shooting "vermin".... last wednesday [last week] he was parked looking over the field/property my friends bought. the light was flooding my house and i was worried re her cats  keeper has previously blatantly shot cats ! this was 12.45 am... he also boasted to another friend unwittingly, that he had shot my fox albert when he had escaped..:( i know its his job but I HATE THE MAN ....

Heat has been a bit oppressive, but really glorious a run over East for table.
What a weight & struggle, but got there...... eventually. I must stop filling the house up before it's finished. I must stop filling the house up before it's finished. I must stop...............just that it was an absolute bargain.
FerretKeeper - I always found that if I needed to help chicks out of shells they never survived - would die after a few hours/days. I agree it's a humidity issue where it's too drying the shell sticks - although if the chick is weak it takes too long to get out. A breeder once said to me that a shed is too uneven a temp a place to have an incubator, but the caravan was too a cramp to have it in here, although we did the first hatch!
Alfie - don't like the sound of that keeper.0 -
The rain never came so I am annoyed with myself for not getting the laundry out and for not just going to the garden.
I am going to try again with the salad and this time I will make sure that the pots get plenty of water as I think that may be the reason they did not grow?
Also going to pop some more things in to see if they will grow. I am not too happy with the look of my new beds and now that I have seen them over the spring and some of the summer I am going to shuffle a few things about in both of them. Also going to cover the raised beds so that I don't have to completely weed them next year.
We have oodles of black currants, other than jam or cordial what do you make from yours?Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -
I'm inundated with black currants too. I have made wine in the past with them, but not successfully. I think some make Summer puddings & freeze them? I also make a mixed fruit jam & just bang whatevers ready in - strawbs, goose berries etc.....or bang em in th efreezer for when it's cooler. Making jam in this heat isn't on.
Neighbour says she's gonna make a rumtoph with them this year.0 -
so dave, you have on your list of  ....... dentist, builders wife, i believe another shopkeeper ? do you seek em out or just wait for em to appear ?;) :rotfl: i ask cos i need to reverse it and find some male .................:D :rotfl::rotfl:
Either the number of attractive women has increased ten-fold since i was a spotty youth, or the older I get the less fussy I am.......It's one of those two. :rotfl:is it just me that gets pithed off with drivers that dont indicate at roundabouts ??
You mean drivers usually indicate in your area?
Here, everyone waves. It's because the roads are narrow, and most drivers seem to assume the other one will pull over, so they wave. Often this means cars pass within inches, neither of which is under full control...... keeper has previously blatantly shot cats ! this was 12.45 am... he also boasted to another friend unwittingly, that he had shot my fox albert when he had escaped..:( i know its his job but I HATE THE MAN ....
Oh dear, you have a Mr Dog.:mad::mad:0 -
What animal would steal 3 eggs, take them to exactly the same place in the middle of a field, open them and consume the contents, but leave most of the shell intact?
That's what I found while pulling a few ragwort that got past me earlier.
The eggs were large for a wild bird and light blue-ish.
I'm stumped.0
