Dave - that sounds good with the Council.
Believe it or not, some of them are fine. I'm glad I'm not in the one that starts half a mile down the road, though!
If people are up-front with them and ask for guidance, even if they don't need it, (because everyone likes to feel useful) then things can be relatively smooth.
It's when the house is Grade2, in an ANOB or National Park, or a conservation area that matters get tricksy.
My BiL has had all sorts of issues: early ones down to incompetent council bods, but later ones due mainly to losing his temper with them and doing stuff with two fingers raised. He's been correct, but being right and getting your own way in the end can be costly in time and frayed nerves, besides £££.
No special circumstances here, other than the agricultural tie, which no one on the council wants to talk about! :rotfl:0 -
Hot, hot, hot here already 24 degrees in the house.......
Will post some photos of the kitchen if the fitter ever finishes fitting it. Have replaced the doors and worktops and left the cupboards. He's put two side panels on to match the new doors but they are not the same colour....can feel it may be a battle to get it sorted. It is a good idea to be alone in a garden at dawn or dark so that all its shy presences may haunt you and possess you in a reverie of suspended thought.

Old dog really puffing in the heat, but we seem to have got her balance of meds right - combination of NSAID, liquid zantac, and joint supplements. She is much happier than she was a few months ago.:):):)
She is now on a renal diet, which thankfully she will eat and we will see at the next blood test if it has helped to support her kidney function.
Thinking about getting a memory foam bed for her 'night time' bed, but probably a bit hot for her atm.It is a good idea to be alone in a garden at dawn or dark so that all its shy presences may haunt you and possess you in a reverie of suspended thought.

Yesterday it got a bit hot & humid in the afternoon, but currently 19c here and comfortable, even for elderly dogs, I'd think. Good to hear you've been able to make old dog more comfortable, Better Days.
Maybe thunder and/or heavy showers tonight.......
Tiling the roof tomorrow, so watch out for some more weather tricks then!0 -
Sky is grey here still.....0

That's so true. We often find that some client's go in guns blazing & OH has to calm things down. It's not their fault that regs are as they are.
& yes, they do like to be asked for advice, after all that is their speciality. OH get's invited to conferences that they run; the last one was for 2 days on the new regs regarding door locks - he declined. He can always phone up & ask them about it rather than mess up his brain even further with that sort of detail.0
