Also going to call local councillor, as according to mr twonk it is him that is reporting us... so going to ask for an appointment to see him at the ranch.. to find out exactly what is going on, and then after that, I will bring up the problem with dog poo on our land ...

    OK???????????

So exactly how is it that Mr Twonk knows that the local councillor is making the complaints?

Unless they have been discussing the complaints?

Agree with Dave, ignore the dog poo, the JK or balsam etc and keep to the straight and narrow re the complaints/potential harassment.

by all accounts mr twonk told that mr councillor happened to be in mr twonk's garden and noticed the smell, so mr twonk said it was the councillor that reported us..

As I said Mr Twonk has a fine art of loading the gun for other people to fire it...

and to top it all mr twonk was referring/calling he a sweetheart, when I told him I didn't like him referring me as sweetheart he then called me Madam!!! Which hubby told him was worse... lol

Reminds me of when my parents first came here to run a shop. The old farmers used to visit Market Day and call my Mum all kind of things, especially if they'd been to the pub. Dad was fuming, but Mum knew they were like that with everyone and took no notice.

One old chap used to tie up his horse and go into the pub. When he came out, he'd get Mum to tie his order to the saddle and off he'd go, drunk as a lord, turning the air blue. He horse knew the way.

One week the horse arrived home with no one in the saddle....:(

lucielle, hope your DH gets the MRI soon, what a worry for you.

choille, we were up in the Highlands last week & I was thinking about you. So sorry to hear about your puss :(

DH is home on (unpaid) hols for the next few weeks & we are going to have to have some serious long-term discussions about our future plans for moving to Scotland. I don't think it's working out that he's up there without me as I'm feeling resentful & a bit jealous if I'm honest :(

I've been harvesting home-grown raspberries for the last few days :j The birds have helped themselves to a few as I didn't get around to netting them. I haven't done anything with them really, so I'm grateful that we're getting any!! :rotfl:

PP you should of got in touch & we could meet up - that would be nice.

Went over East yesterday & popped into a charity warehouse that I've got a lot of stuff from - more stuff that's cluttering up a half built house! I've had a hankering for a wind out oak table & seen some but couldn't afford one - I got one for £85. It has marks on the top but nothing that I can't fix.

We'll have to go back with a borrowed trailer to pick it up & somehow...slide it into the house build...........

choille, your half-built house sounds like it's an Aladdin's cave of goodies, I wish I could have seen it :D You are probably much further up than we went though. We stayed near a place called Drumnadrochit.

CTC, Mr Twonk sounds like a patronising... twonk!! Hope you get it all resolved.

lir, love the villainous cockerel story :D Hope you're doing ok.

Very hot & humid here today, cue the red face & 'Monica' hair :o

    Yes,

I'm doing much better. The consulting physician added an antidepressant into my cocktail and frankly I cannot believe the difference its made. I haven't checked out the Dignitas website for a few weeks ;) I'll find this heat wave difficult and I'm sleeping an awful lot and getting nowt done, but FEELING better about it all :)

That's heartening. There's nothing worse than feeling down and being hard on yourself when jobs don't get done. And let's face it, with smallholdings and 'project' houses, there are always jobs that don't get done, or are merely 'patched' to hold them for a while.

Modern anti-depressants are a world away from their equivalents of 40 years ago. :)

The good news from here is that the building inspector has accepted our revised plan without asking for a re-submission.:j Both he and his manager, also attending, were very impressed with the work to date. So they should be! It's 'proper' woodwork.

I got them to hint at the best, most cost-effective way to turn 1/2 the garage 'habitable,' and their answer was more or less what I had in mind too, so all positive. :D

The structural engineer also called. He turned out to be a very helpful chap, who listened and, again, helped us to choose a cost-effective way forward.

The bad news is that our builder chap has generated plenty of work leads, so he will be away from this job for 5 weeks after we get the tiles on. However, that gives us some thinking time, as the blessed oil tank is in the way of the new porch and we were counting on the Aga for one more winter.....:(
