well the rain came, along with the thunder and lightening in the middle of the night.... and the windows open a bit in the caravan so it felt as though the rain, thunder and lightening was in the caravan... and yes I did hid under the blanket and squeezed my eyes tight lol..
still very grey here, and a still a bit of wind.... I am sure we supposed to have another lot tonight???
Got the professional tree man coming later, as one of the neighbours has been on about one of trees might bring his fence down if it comes down, the neighbour did say he would cut it down, an so did hubby, BUT I think it is wise to pay a professional to take it down, for one thing to save any mis-haps, and also if there is, his insurance would cover it... it will also show everyone, we do listen ( sometimes lol) this neighbour lives next door to mr twonkWork to live= not live to work0 -
FK, I might be wrong but it sounds like the humidity was wrong, if they were finding it hard to come out of the egg, OR maybe too inbred and they had weakness and some deformity?
I am just worried that the thunder storm last night didn't effect my eggs....Work to live= not live to work0 -
Gorgeous here. yesterday was gorgeous, but so midgied that even the lambs looked miserable with them & the cleggs.
 Oh no! I had forgotten how grim midges can be that far up  Cleggs  Been bitten by a couple of them before and they really hurt!!!!Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -

I seem to be adapting to cleggs a bit, so their bites don't bother me as much as they used to. Very few here in the garden, but anywhere near the trees or long grass.....They even bite through clothing.
Good move, CTC.
Right, off to the Dog End to spread some comfrey juice before the rain........:cool:0 -
I remember having a lucky escape when my horse was bitten by a clegg, I clung on for dear life as my horse exploded and bolted. It is the fact you can feel them biting
My birthday is in a few weeks and a gift arrived for me today. Seemingly I have reverted to childhood as I have been shaking the box, poking it and trying to figure out what the gift is :rotfl:
Th harbingers of doom today told me it would be raining by lunch time so I didn't hang out the laundry and it is still glorious sunshine! Next time I will listen to my internal weather forecast and ignore them! I could have got out to play in the garden too!Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -
Roast potato weather here today, up to 30 degrees.
Daft as a brush lurcher decided today was the day to escape and go dancing along the road looking for good quality sniffs. Luckily Mr BD spotted he had gone and caught him up quickly. It is a good idea to be alone in a garden at dawn or dark so that all its shy presences may haunt you and possess you in a reverie of suspended thought.

Tree guy came was here for nearly 3 hours ( he is a friend anyway) talking about the pigs etc.. managed to do a bit of bartering, he reduced the price for us ( not by much) and we will also give him a joint of pork...
There is a also a tree growing from our land going over the stream, and over hanging mr twonks land, 'if' anything happened with that tree it would crash into his old stable etc... sooooo I am going to write a letter and tree gu is going to copy it onto his headed paper etc ( to make it look as though it is coming from him) with the basic info saying he is doing is bi-annual report on the trees on our land, and he as pinpointed this tree as a potential problem, so can he have permission to go onto his property ( bottom of garden) to cut down the tree.. with no cost to himself... now if he says yes.. great.. if he says no, then 'if' something does happen and the tree crashed down on his property. .we will not be liable..( hoping he is going to say no lol)Work to live= not live to work0 -

The downpours are scheduled to miss us again tonight, so I think I'll be watering most of the day tomorrow if they do.
We got about 2/3 of the roof tiling done after all. The builder's wife (a very fit lady, if you know what I mean ) came over this pm, so that we could set up a human chain, from pile, to ladder, to scaffold. The tiles went on like clockwork.
Mind you, my arms feel like they'll need a bit of a rest this weekend.0 -
