Rumlet sounds lovely.
We landed here because of house prices racing a few years back now & I couldn't get paid for the house I'd sold until the crofting commission approved the new occupiers - that took 9 months & in that time prices just about doubled so we ended up buying land as that's what we could afford - it was a very scary time. Because of illness & some other stuff the build has been slow, but we are tied into it & that has been scary & stressful at times too.
But when you get a day like today - gorgeous - too hot really ( especially when we got a delivery of materials & that had to be shifted} Everything looks so fabulaous - apart from the weeds & the chaos & the out of control land.......but the big things, the landscape is knock out gorgeous. Still love that.
Hacked some shrubs back. Pulled out a load of treelings. Nature being too rampant. The broom I planted is rather promiscuous - it's everywhere. The purple clover here next to Lady's mantle is just such a delight & it's feral.....a bit like meself.0 -
I do yearn for kittens, but ole cat still ploughs on, so I sound disloyal. He is starting to struggle & went out last night for ages - I went seeking him as he doesn't go out now very much & I thought......well I was relieved when he came back.
Another hotty here & OH is away to fetch the cement that delivery driver forgot to put on board so we can start doing the block behind the Rayburn0 -
Looks like another gorgeous day today
I am quietly packing a picnic and getting everything ready for a day at the park. When my DD finally crawls out of her bed we will set off. I am looking forward to a day of sitting in the sunshine with a good book and a sleeping baby :rotfl:Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -
:j:j:j Kittens for Alfie :j:j:j:j (really you need 2
) Or possibly more!
I agree with the others; we've found two ideal, because they entertain each other.YOU LOT FINISHED ???? :rotfl::rotfl:

I like having two.
They snuggle under covers and keep you warm in winter., one on each side.

Just popping back in
I agree, alfie, two kittens are great, they play togther and look so sweet when they doze off next to each other. Cats are pretty independent, but still they seem to be social too, especially siblings. My current two thunder happily around the house chasing each other and of course the invisible things that only cats can see.
When it came to the end of the road for my dear old kitty Felix I had him PTS on the bed next to his brother so the last thing he heard in this world was his brother purring gently.
Chilly and windy here today. Very windy yesterday and heavy rain forecast for the afternoon. I have gone back to fleece lined trousers - what a wimp for JulyFor the first time for ages the chickens put themselves to bed before dusk last night, they don't approve of this weather either.
Been resting up this week. Gloriously quiet as the plumber is away on another job, so I have my house back (albeit with a half finished kitchen) and can rest properly. It is a good idea to be alone in a garden at dawn or dark so that all its shy presences may haunt you and possess you in a reverie of suspended thought.
