I do feel a bit guilty, as we will be selling ours ( hopefully they will bring the reserve we are going to put on them), and then if there are any cheap weaners ( ones that go for a £1 or 2) we were going to get a few of them to bring on, and then put them back into auction a month or two down the line...
weather is a lot cooler now, drizzle rain most of the afternoon... so just going to watch them weeds grow even faster lol..Work to live= not live to work0 -

I started feeling quite a bit better this week I think. Felt less great this afternoon then realised I hadn't eaten so think that was the problem today.
Definitely NOT overdoing it.0 -

Good to hear this.
I felt quite light-headed this afternoon, but in my case I think it was dehydration. Came in, had a few drinks and an hour later I was mowing the orchard.
People have been saying today was very hot. I guess it was over in the east, but we had a gentle breeze. No rain, fortunately, as we still had a bit of roof off.
Today's kitten photo:
They had the first of their two injections today......and Fleur was re-named Delilah at the last minute! (She will be Della or Lila IRL;))
No going back; it's all on the official paperwork now! :rotfl:0 -
Loving the kitten pics Dave, I'm living vicariously through them and you, can't have any more here but I'm feeling broody!
We had two kittens who we called Toffee and Treacle, for the sake of naming them for their passports.
toffee was a tortie and treacle was all black. Treacle = all black = Kiwi and that stuck. Treacle became Biscuit Cat because she eats dog biscuits from the dogs' dishes!
Kiwi disappeared a fair while ago but still got Biscuit cat. They are never referred to by their 'proper' names !
CTC wish I could come to market for some moral support, not easy to say goodbye
glad you liked the bunting, give us a knock if you've got time when you go by next, the kettle is always on!
I'm a bit mad over bunting, I'm trying for kerb appeal and to attract new customers and generally get locals to like meActually the whole village needs cheering up, my crafty friends want to yarn bomb the roundabout by the community centre, so we've been knitting in secret...:)
I'm with you Dave... I have a ram, last years lamb, who head butts everyone, including me, since he got all hormonal, he knocked me over once. He's a pedigree Shetland so I thought I should keep him for breeding..until this started. I have other rams and wethers who are not only non aggressive they are down right affectionate, and so pedigree is less important than the temperament. Evil ram will be in the freezer once his fleece has grown back enough for me to have a good sheepskin, and I'll 'replace' him with one or two of this years ram lambs who are too adorable to eat:o
I will also not be eating the wethers intended for the freezer, they are an asset when I have visitors, they nibble pockets and zips, too cute!
No wonder I can't get up early when I'm on here and watching telly til nearly midnight, it's like being a student again :rotfl:0 -

I'm still trying to work out how our old cat, Poppy, ended up as 'Winkle!'
Marvin isn't that vicious; in fact when he had a go at me in the hen house the other night, his pecks were so pathetic I just laughed. But he's a passenger, and as his two siblings aren't friendly, or exceptional dark egg layers, they may as well all go together. We'll get some others to replace them.
FiL has sorted out the wrongly constructed window on the hen house extension. Painted up, it won't be too bad, but we were let down there.
As a student, I always worked through the nights when there were no distractions.....except a girl friend who used to do the same. I would look out my window at 3 am and see her light on.....:o But our relationship was mostly platonic..... and it certainly is now!:A
In those days, educational establishments were somewhat green. I had some good friends who's sign me into 09.30 lectures.....along with half a dozen others. No one seemed to twig that, say, 60 yawning students, didn't tally with the register showing double that number! :rotfl:0 -
hi all... my poor old black lab is suffering today [she has a lazy larynx] she seems to be struggling for breath
its like she gulps in but cant exhale ? then she's ok ? [maybe the HUGE farts she's doing :rotfl: ] but im not being complacent and watching her like a hawk.... as sisters, the 2 labs are both suddenly showing thier age [13] golden one is getting very arthritic and walks like spotty dog [wooden tops] sad to see
but thats life...

I ran amok with a bag of poppy seeds from the supermarket earlier in the year and......nothing. Not one.
I think the little lawn chooks have probably found them all.
They ate all the basil as it sprouted too.
They may come up next year? Possibly. I think some poppies take more than 12 months.0
