Turned into a very nice evening with us, still 17 and sunny.

I've been planting box cuttings after clipping the plants, if they take I can find a home for them.

Also been sowing seeds from Cirsium rivulare 'Atropurpureum' which a neighbour has.

I tried a number of times using seed from plants we'd bought-in, but not one seedling. :(

    I was doing something wrong......

We have lots of box, all originally cuttings from very old bushes growing along the railway embankment in a park where we used to live. I am trying to repot all of them this year and treat them extra-well, because I've seen box blight in a garden not far away.

You mentioning fireweed reminded me that my "Weed of the Year" is American willow herb. It will probably hold that honour every year, being resistant to glyphosate and hard to pull without leaving the important bits in the ground.

Ohh I think we have American willow herb too. I have been pulling it up but didn't realise it was a pain to get rid of.

Sunny here today after the very wet weekend.

Installer making progress with the kitchen :D

Any of you heard of amtico flooring? A friend is having it put down and I am considering it for our kitchen/hall/utility. Currently in the kitchen there is vinyl over concrete screed, and thick tiles, which I think will be a pain to get up, in the hall and utility.

It has a much better reputation than other vinyl. I haven't knowingly seen it though better days.

Bit grimbo here, was beautiful this morning, but heavy and overcast now. On investigation this weekend was saddened to see that during my 'absence from health' I have lost things still in pots, including some roses. :(.

MiL has Amtico. It's very expensive, but good. Also, you could look at Polyflor, which has had some good things said about it on MSE. :)

More kitten photos? Chance would be a fine thing! They don't stay still enough, but I will try again! :rotfl:

    Thanks LIR and Dave
Have quite a big area to cover so Amtico will probably be too pricey. Will look into Polyfloor, thanks haven't heard of that

Photo's of sleeping kittens has a pretty good ahhh factor too if they won't stay still while awake ;)
