Doing some serious dead heading to day. Its so sad when the may/ June flush is over.
. Garden looks a bit ragged. 0 -
Davesnave I will try and take a video of me walking the actual footpath, you will see the lay of the land so to speak..
had to ask someone to put their dog on the lead again this morning..
those mange touts are very productive....

My lavender is not behaving! It is meant to tumble over the edge of the bed and instead it is all upright and gangly!Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0

What variety of Lavender have you got Rummer?
Most are fairly upright and don't tend to 'tumble'.
Scent is glorious whatever the variety.
Thunder and lightning and torential rain yesterday.
Chilly and drizzly today, only 15 degrees. Hardly flaming June here in Suffolk. It is a good idea to be alone in a garden at dawn or dark so that all its shy presences may haunt you and possess you in a reverie of suspended thought.

I can't remember but I was assured it would bush over the edges. I'm also disappointed in the scent too as it has a chemical tinge to it unlike the other gorgeous lavender I have in the garden.Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0

It's still T shirt weather here, but the wind isn't doing what the Met Office says, so my bonfire is very low key!

I'm doing too many things once, but as none is much fun, at least it's variety.:D On the one hand, I'm digging a hole in the big barn's concrete floor for a post to support a dividing wall. On the other hand, I'm manufacturing those U shaped ground anchors to hold down more ground cover. The latter is a sort of 'resting' job as the other's a bit energetic.
If I ever finish, I want to plant more stuff by the stream. Then I won't have to water it.

I don't think I'm ever as busy as you!
I omitted to mention the hour I wasted, playing with the kittens at lunch time.:o :rotfl: They are slowly being allowed to explore the rest of the house now, but we put 'em back in their chicken run when they want to sleep, which is still a lot! Mostly, they go there themselves anyway. They are very well-behaved.
I have finally made a square hole in the barn floor, deep enough to take a post & some concrete. It has taken an incredibly long time to achieve that ....at least 3 hours.
I hate these jobs which result in nothing very much, although they are essential.
DW has strung up the tomatoes for me, so she's off planting things to fill gaps, like big nicotianas and cleomes.
I shall not plant today.
I'm about to barbecue.
At least the wind is behaving now, so I'm able to continue bonfiring without spoiling anyone's evening.
