Would be GORGEOUS, but wouldn't it cost a fortune?

Better days, your garden stain/paint looks very familiar too me! I get sort of snow blind looking at it, ( need to start another wall soon really) but it looks fab.

Alfie, oh........I see, sounds perfect then!

Thanks LIR and Alfie. I hated those black bathroom tiles with a passion and virtually anything would have been an improvement, but I am very pleased with the result. LIR I adore those glass tiles - for the ensuite I wanted some to match these aqua fox towels which I saw on JL website but couldn't find any the right colour and that I could afford! JLfoxtowel_zps9aa2cb3b.jpg

LIR there was a cottage on the market near here last year which had that paint stain on the window frames and doors - it really looked super with the cottage garden around it. And it is certainly preferably to that ruddy orange that B&Q seem to sell by the ocean load which people paint their fences with.....

BD - I hadn't known about the halogen oven thing. I think I'm very backwards on new stuff. I got a fright going into B&Q the other month - all that lurid wall paper!

I hadn't heard of them either until we moved into this house last December and we needed something in a hurry as the built in oven doesn't have a door on it! Found the halogen ovens by accident when browsing ovens online. They make lovely roast potatoes and warm up croissants a treat. There are a couple of thread on halogen ovens on MSE - worth a browse if you are considering one ;)

glad you are well choille, sounds like yr house is coming on..
re combi microwavers.. they are usually quite high wattage. [remember im the EX wattage nerd/geek :rotfl: ] is not the calor gas stove a better option ? friends in surrey get big bomb shape cylinders that seem to last ages for thier cooker.
but you maybe have difficulty getting em delivered ?[/QUOTE]

I don't think they are that highwattage - are they? I don't know diddly sqit about electrickery.

Congrats on the chair sale. I can't believe how cheap things are at auction these days. I viewed one, but didn't stay - can't be cluttering the housebuild any more as it's crambed and it's hard to work round. Prices are way cheap for really nice furniture.

LIR - those coppers are old coppers from wash houses - you can pick them up easily no? You see them lying about at the bottom of crofts. Could you get an old cylinder - a water cylinder & a can opener?

Dave - sorry to hear of the stones coming back - very painful things I hear.

Alfie - the calor gas cylinders are pretty heavy things. We do have a calor gas cooker in the caravan. It's very old, but does in here. It doesn't shut properly so I have to prop things against it!

We'll get a gas hob & I did rather fancy an electric oven but we don;t have a high enough electrickery supply, so looking to alternatives at the mo.

Absolutely lashed it down - Monsoon & thunder storms - so much rain it's deafening.
