Still shuddering about your dog collar.
A few weeks a go DH came back from the dogs late night walk and dog dog had a paw. An actual paw, Of a fox. Covered in maggots. I was in bed, and why DH thought he had to bring this to show me is beyond me.
He acted out the scene with a hand from clash of the titans while realisations dWned slowly upon be and I started to retch in the bed.
Its just as well I have a sense of humour. :rotfl:
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Your OH always sounds full of fun :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -
HAHAHAHA, well it has been piddling it down, and the tv in the caravan didn't have very good tv signal with the heavy bouts of rain lol... in fact davesnave I put it somewhere safe, and couldn't find it until this week...
Alfie..... I totally agree
hope there is some sort of let up with this rain tomorrow.. so we can do something outside as I am sure those weeds are now laughing at us lolWork to live= not live to work0 -
Sorry for all your upset CTC - Family stuff is exhausting in many ways.
I'm an orphan!
Really chill wind here today after Monsoon type weather. The trees are exploding upwards & the Broom I plated years back looks like environmental graffitti - it's too bright & loud & too much - bit like me self. I must hack it back with a sickle.
Ole cat plods on but seems to be ravenous but very picky & has developed some bad manners when it comes to our dinner time. He never was a pest at meal times but he tries to claw his way up my legs when i'm eating.
Kits look cute as sweet pie Dave.
We've decided against underfloor heating so the Rayburn is too high up on a concrete plinth...argggggggggggggggg. !!!! & nickers.0 -
The weather here has been surreal! I have gone from t-shirt and sunglasses to winter jacket and wellies.
Tomorrow rain or shine I will really need to get out into the greenhouse and get stuff done. I have fallen behind againhowever I am determined to catch up again and get the things I have ready into the ground and start off a few other things in the hope they will be ready to go out when the weather perks up.

I can solve that! Just wear roller skates when you cook.
I think you & I are a bit vertically challenged at the best of times, so really, I sympathise. No matter how well you plan, eh? :wall:
We've found someone to refurb the garage and give it a pitched roof. They're sort of distantly related, so we shall get a good deal.
On the bungalow itself, we both now agree that the simplest of the new plans we came up with works fine. In a sense, it validates our original thought about there being enough space, if only we could find the best way distribute it properly. It's just taken us a few years to work out which compromises we can live with and which things to kick into the long grass.
Glad the DVD helped just a teeny bit to lighten this week for you, CTC. I think the reason why our productions are popular is because everyone works so hard, yet it's still obvious we're only just about holding it together! :rotfl:0 -
LIR - Bury an animal here & it gets dug up by badgers, you have to put rocks on the grave.
First time it happened I couldn't work it out - looked like a white skeleton appearing from the ground - which in a way it was.
I think the estate have a brock pit - most farmers used lime when I lived further down the coast.
I away to google combi micro waves. We have a low electrickery supply so I am thinking of getting one as opposed to a calor gas oven which I have at present. Does anyone know any good ones. Can you bake in them?0 -
Two good night's sleep in a row - thanks to Zopiclone
. Wish I didn't need to take it but meds are still better than ending up like a zombie from TWD (apart from the meat eating that is
). One of the worst aspects of this illness is poor quality sleep and sleep disturbance, but at least I have Zopi for when it gets really bad.
Was a lovely day here yesterday - planted out my toms and courgettes with some companion planting of marigolds and calendula. Sunny today here so far.
Old dog much happier now we are back home. Was rather worried about her last week when we were on our hols, she just wouldn't settle and relax.
Money - to add to your chicken vocabulary - there is also a 'cluck of anguish' - you hear this when a slice of grape is snatched from beak to beak. :rotfl:One chicken is especially prone to the 'cluck of anguish'. When she finds a grape slice she is so happy she runs around with it in her beak clucking away with excitement. The other chickens get on and eat the grape slices and if she is unlucky they then steal hers.
I would ask before you feed your neigbours chickens - and as with everything moderation is the key - hens cannot live on grapes alone - much as they may like to try! Plus slice or cut up any grapes so they don't try to swallow them whole and choke.
choille have you considered a tabletop halogen oven. We have one of these and it gets lots of use - the only thing Mr BD hasn't worked out how to do is Yorkshire Puds. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Andrew-James-Premium-Replaceable-WARRANTY/dp/B002LYQF7A/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1401089414&sr=8-3&keywords=halogen+oven
We do also have a microwave though for re-heating things.
There has been lots of rubbish in the garden here - mainly string, glass, plant pots, plant labels, odd bits of plastic and the chickens are turning over all sorts of things. No bones of animals yet so far thank goodness.
It is a good idea to be alone in a garden at dawn or dark so that all its shy presences may haunt you and possess you in a reverie of suspended thought.

why couldn't have been like this sat and sunday???? the weather is FAB!!! Just taken mama pig away from the piglets... took flipping ages lol... as the piglets went into the trailer, but she wanted to stay in the shed lol.. finally some cake, and a big huge shove done it, so piglets back in shed, and mama pig in the trailer, going to wait an hour or two, before putting her back in with her boyfriend, just to make sure mama, and piglets are ok away from each other,,
Davesnave... what do I need to feed my peas with?? they are not growing the way I would like them too, plus the leaves are yellowing a bit... I had this prob with runners last year, but eventually they did catch up and gave a good crop... after this season is over... and hopefully some raised beds in place, will put some semi rotted pig poo over it allWork to live= not live to work0 -
Nature is laughing at me
Due to various life events and a slight lazy streak I never find the time to get out in the garden. Today I managed to arrange time, got my gardening gear on, opened the door and ......... the heavens opened and the rain is bouncing off the ground.
There is so much that I need to do however I am procrastinating myself to a standstill! I need to clear the greenhouse to get my seedlings out and the beds need to be cleared so I can get my other seedlings into the ground not to mention that I have to plant up a whole load more!
Plus I left my gardening gloves out in the rain and they are soaking so I have no gloves and I am far to precious to garden without them :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -
decided to put mama pig in the run next to boyfriend, to give her time out... and have some peace and quiet.. the first thing she dome was drive in the mud and cover herself from head to toe lol..
glorious day here Rummer... lol the gloves, that's my normal trick..
Choille I was thinking of doing the same thing with lidl's living lettuce..Work to live= not live to work0
